Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Zero job security

This company can't be trusted. If you make too much money or someone doesn't like you, you're probably a target. In some divisions you have zero job security no matter how good you are. Start looking for a new job now and save up a rainy day fund.

@b0 Audit had a RIF. Many leave quickly and change is constant. Everything the others said about audit on this thread is true. I would not recommend audit in good conscience to anyone.

@k3 you're spot on. I came to TAS this time last year and have never felt so confused or 'alone in the middle of the ocean' in my career.....and I've been in banking for a long time. There's zero consistency or teamwork form audit to audit.

@b0 TAS at merger was the best and brightest from two separate great audit groups, the group had unbelievable potential. Then they hired Denise. In my opinion, she single handedly destroyed the group. She brought in her friends, pushed out the people with the knowledge and relationships, and made everyone feel miserable. Those who she did not push out left on their own. Those left were merely there to collect a paycheck and keep vesting in the pension. Then she was finally fired, and Grant was brought in. Many were hopeful he could restore the group. As of now that has not happened. Many people have been hired into the group to only stay for less than a year before they see the disfunction and leave for sometimes lower level positions making less money at other banks just to get away.

Ask around before you make a decision to join the group.

When is this not true everywhere today?

@b0 The CSBB audit team played favorites with the USAA folks. If you were not one of them, they would gang up against you. They would harass people and hoard information. None of the USAA folks were RIF. If you are not from the same bank as the Senior Managing Director for that audit team, you are a red headed step child. Never forget you cannot out perform favoritism.

@a9 Why is Audit the worst? Just curious. Someone called me for an interview in the Audit Analytics group.

No such thing as job security basically anywhere. Build your network, always have a backup plan.
