Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Can you work from a different floor in your building?

If you’re assigned to floor 4 in your building can you work from a different floor in the same building? The location tracking is only at building level right?

Who even cares what cpg says. That entire group is getting contacted out. Want me to leave cpg guy? Ok, I'll head home to actually get some work done without distractions from petty failed properties hacks. That entire group is completely worthless.

You are only supposed to sit in your neighborhood or neighborhood overflow areas. No one will likely say anything to you. And if someone does it will be CPG. Some of them don’t like when people are working in areas other than their neighborhood.

Yes technically you can sit anywhere in the building let alone on the campus if you're badge lets you scan in. The real issue comes from your manager, if your manager works at the same location as you do that individual may want you to sit close to them as much as possible so they can micromanage you or go over to your cube to try to be your friend or some other creepy Factor that makes you annoyed and expedites a hostile work environment.

You got to remember majority of the managers here at Wells Fargo are not good managers they are people that you wouldn't trust a bag your groceries when you go shopping and the only responsibility that they will take is ones that they know is 100% guaranteed give them accolades because no manager is capable of being proactive or doing anything responsible but what they do love is micromanage and control because that way they feel they can control you the way that they want you to be controlled.

Good luck hopefully your manager will let you sit wherever you want and not micromanage you but majority of Wells Fargo manager especially the older generation who've been there for 30 plus years like the micromanaging because that is the way they grew up here at Wells Fargo

I’ve been sitting in nice big office on a different floor for a long time now. Not my office either

Yep, I don't do well under fluorescent lights and my cafeteria has natural sunlight and comfy couches! Win win.

I have been doing this since I had to RTO in March 2022. No problems.

OP, they can track you to the cube using your IP and WFI

Pretty sure as long as you’re in your assigned building doesn’t matter which floor or neighborhood you sit in but if you work from a different building you’ll show up as being at an unassigned location

Unless your manager is in your office and physically wants to see you, sit wherever you want. A badge into the building is a badge into the building. always try to sit as far away from people as possible as I don’t need their germs and work better in a quieter environment.

Agree on all of the above. People on my team sit won different floors in different areas. No one wants to really sit together and honestly i think it is nice. It is not about collaboration because even if someone is sitting next to me we will jump on teams to meet. You can share screens easier, talk at a better volume etc. RTO is about putting structure and presence in the buildings not about collaboration. That is fine and regardless of what anyone says it is good to get dressed for a job and go to work in an office. I still come home and work but the flexibility is nice. I am just not going to complain about it because doesn;t do any good. Go with it.

Not true, and in fact cpg people encouraged us to "try different spaces" when RTO kicked off. I never sit in my assigned building or hood. Ever.

Why did I never think of this!!! It's brilliant. (As long as there's no nasty smelling food.)

Work in NYC. Not always enough available desks to sit at on my assigned floor. Or you find an open desk and the computer equipment is broken. I have moved to another floor in the same building and sat at any available desk, as long as my security card gives access to that floor. Never an issue. Other people have done the same for the same reasons. No issues when it comes to RTO reporting or manager due to be being non-compliant.

No. Each line of business has assigned space or a neighborhood. You can't randomly sit on any floor in the building. Other than your assigned floor or neighborhood, you can sit in Connections space.
