Fawley Operational Excellence

FCC down for 2 years now, any signs of her coming back up or we’ve packed it all in and gone home?

Anything processing seems to be part time now at Fawley. Business is falling apart in every aspect.

@bcw someone bizarrely approved a $1 billion investment pre covid. Not even big dazza's ba--s are big enough to write that one off.

Site folks have accepted it's a lost cause, just treading water now until the buyer is announced.

@b46+1jw4vzv9c Legalisation banning sales of cars with combustion engines. Fuels market further deteriorates. Current assets will soon be stranded.

@b30 what happens in 2035?

Delay isn't an option, this is the year to sell to allow the new buyer 10 years of return before 2035.

All the same, Fawley's performance has been so poor you wonder if there isn't some form of sabotage involved here lately.

Why are people saying the managers there are terrible? A huge number of our most senior executives started there together, so they must be some of our best!

Why is the fcc down? The head replacement during the ta ie24 was well planned?

Agree. For the right price, even the Houston Campus is ready to be emptied by the end of 2Q!

If the price is right, Fawley would be sold to a 3rd party in 2H2025.

Now that Leatherhead will close, next step is to resettle resources that can not move and close that loose end. Then move the rest to the Fawley asset and then sell the entity to a buyer. Expect all of this to wrap in 2026 or 2027 latest. NDG closes 2025, then Fawley next.

@cg well it either needs some TLC or that, those are the two paths; EM is sick and tired of Fawley, so the former isn’t happening

I just feel sorry for the employees… led on for years with ‘Forever Fawley’ and all sorts of other nonsense, now in limbo due to redundancies; meanwhile, the local mgmt push the “look at ur amazing career” line when those who are awake know it’s nonsense

A great shame

It is expected that Fawley will eventually just be a terminal for refining and chemical products. Why invest in restarting the FCC if Fawley will be a terminal.

@cc bright management, they just don’t care very much; they already that it’s over, just a case of milking gold plated pensions and cushy expat assignments for as long as they last

wouldn’t be surprised if we see the FCC down for a few more months, whether it’s running or not makes no difference to anyone’s life there… as you say, zero skin in the game

6 months on and off is more accurate, fine.

I do mostly agree all the same, Fawley is a basket case due to the clueless management with no skin in the game there, and a corporate view of the UK as something it's wanted out of for years. Roll on the sale announcement to an owner who wants the asset.
