I know of so many Fird engineers from PTME that are still staying home and not return to the office. They called into a meeting once a day. Watch TV, surf the internet, doing home renovations, honey do list, and some has side jobs. They are all milking Ford for money and no supervisors or managers are noticing anything. This is one sad company to work for. I am glad I don't work for Ford anymore.
Could we all just PLEASE put our big girl and big boy pants on and drive to work ?
@ez+1jjvnx758 Don’t listen to the id--ts. Most of us have immense respect for those working in the plants.
You have to understand the other side of the coin though. Many of us would be driving to the office just to sit and talk on WebEx to people all over the world. It’s a complete waste of time.
The only reason that management is pushing for RTO is for stealth layoffs, protect commercial real estate and local tax breaks. They don’t give a cr-p about fairness, otherwise they would be talking about paying the workers who need to be in person more money.
@b7, Your rude comments show just how ignorant you are about what goes on in assembly plants. I spent a lot of time as a line supervisor and industrial engineer at Ford plants and can tell you first hand that working on the line is no picnic. My bet is that your candy a-s wouldn’t last one shift!
Also, you shouldn’t have jumped to the conclusion that a plant person was requesting that people return to the office.
Our President & CEO should also be following the successful companies to a clear path of running a company.
This choice of leading by zi-zagging throughout of the thought of the month direction for some billion dollar corporation hasn't been working out all too well now has it?
We're all in one day, then stepping out the next?
Won't be using this strategy in any business schools as examples.
I have been back to the office for the past 6 months and I love it.
White Collars should work all weeks as Blue Collars. It is unfair for those making quality products.
Trump hates Ford and will not save the company even if you beg. Try begging
That is what is wrong with Ford and Trump.... They have no idea about the bushiness they are managing. RTO and WFH both have benefits. Fools who can't see this have no place making decisions.
I can guess your age by this post
Really curious how much thought you put into concluding the President caused that plane crash? Other than repeating what AOC and others in the media said.
Oh the same president that just caused an air plane crash because he is delusional and cares more about dei than public safety?
Those posting for people to get back to the office are either trolls of from the uneducated ranks of the UAW. We are in 3 days per week and sit on teams mtgs. Very few in person mtgs due to colleagues in different countries. So you see it really doesn't matter where we the educated people work, it's that you are just bitter because all you learned how to do was put a bolt in a fender. Thats ok though, the world needs you and garbage men too.
I sincerely hope everyone at Ford has to go into the office five days a week. Further, I hope they fill the train station to the brim. Also, I hope it snows everyday, all winter long. Get your butts back into the office!
"This is the same policy at Tesla. Which has made the company better."
@ap+1jjvnx758
Well heck, if it made Tesla better it HAS to work for us right!? Not like there are many other fundamental issues that could get in the way least of which is RTO...thanks for setting us all straight with your practical no BS logic. I'm gonna get you a raise, Cap'n you are doing a helluva job.
Companies could save buttloads of cash by having people work remotely.
If people working on computers all day aren’t getting the job done, that’s a management problem, not a location problem.
The people pushing the hardest to end working remotely, work remotely.
RTO is a management fad being pushed by commercial real estate investors and landlords. And governments (for taxes). It's the "in" thing to get excited about in the executive suite.
Anyone pushing RTO is either envious or they're being played.
When companies are squeezed for cash and need to save money, you know what they’ll do? They’ll stop leasing that big expensive office building and have their information workers work at home.
And oooooo, the CRE landlords will squeeeeeel somethin’ awful.
No offer. The only offer is for you all to return to the office or leave the company.
This is the same policy at Tesla. Which has made the company better.
I agreed! Give me the 6 months salary and I’ll happy to leave. It’s a win-win!
