I remember when Dell actually pushed us to learn and grow. That seems like ancient history now.

I remember a time when you would be flown to Hopkinton for training that lasted for a week, sometimes two weeks.
Now, learn on your own time.
They keep taking and taking and taking.
@b8 ODW was all JC man, all JC. It was released before it was ready solely so he could get his big fat bonus.
@bc same. Idk what these people are on. Edassist doesnt even come from your cost center, so if your boss won't approve theyre kind of an a-s. I've gotten thousands in education funding for sh-t only adjacently related to role
I've competed five professional certs and using tuition assistance to take AI courses at university
The clust-f-c-ary of ODW makes a person wonder which Dip-s-hit approved this as a step in the right direction.
I asked my manager to approve me taking professional certification course directly needed for my role. He then said request had been rejected higher up. He lied as I got to know.
Hidden in the black hole known as ODW.
They'd love you to learn but, please, do it on your own time.
@ar AI might crash so it's now or never for them.
Dell knows they're done! They're just trying to hold on as long as they can but they know their days are over.
- No AI
- No Enterprise Software Solutions
- No Competitive products
- No Cloud presence
- Hardware is dead/dying
They don't care anymore. All they want to do is keep laying people off to artificially prop up the stock for as long as they can.
If you learn and grow, you might command higher compensation, here or elsewhere. Can't have that!
They stopped investing in human knowledge because they no longer want to rely on human brains. Instead, they are using your daily work, your data, and your expertise to train a centralized, automated infrastructure. An AI and robotic ecosystem designed to be completely self-sustaining. In short, they are using human workers to build the very system that will make humans obsolete.
why learn if they plan to replace you with indian dev?
