Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What is the story with Redmond / Willows?

Does this location still exist? Is it considered a 5 day a week HUB? More directly, WTC1 & WTC2, WTC3 used to be a NOC and I think it is still occupied by a customer team. I heard it was going to be shut down and put up for lease. Sounds like a savings to me!!

In 2022, Red Man was “re-branded” America’s Best by those p@nsies at Swedish Match.

The last people from Redmond Town Center RTC1 were loved to Bothell 7 and 8 in 3Q2024. Bothell 9 has a data center. ATT owns those three buildings. WTC 1 and 2 still maintain the LTE and 5G labs; WTC3, a NOC back in the old days, has office space for some NE&O folks. Rumors are that Bothell will eventually be gone, merged into TX and GA.

Willows still has lab space in use but not much more.

If you mean the Redmond Washington "hub", those people were told to go to Bothell. A hub is a hub until it's not. Wouldn't be suprised if same thing eventually happens to the two NJ "hubs" as well as further consoildation in Texas and Georgia. They'll call it consolidation in the name of collaboration. But eveyone knows it's simply more layoffs.
