Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Mid / Late February Actions

I know posts about reduction rumors seem to get a lot of airtime in this echo chamber.

I’m a long time employee (30+ yrs) and just not seeing the typical signs that typically precede these events. Please understand that I’m not suggesting we are well managed or a great place to work. But the internal discussion around non interest expenses and efficiency ratios seemed to be pretty much standard boilerplate last earnings release.

What am I missing please

"Tired of being paid down, while those at the top make it on our backs. It's gross Not buying into this b.s. anymore."

This is the essence of the system we live in IN GENERAL. Hope you realize that and it's NOT going to be much different at the next place you work!

N-p-and-tuck -- across 200,000+ employee base... WARN not necessary.

I've asked two B2s and they aren't aware of anything major.

(and believe me, they aren't that quick on their feet, nor good liars, so I believe these guys)

I volunteered (again) for a layoff, but hearing none, I will resign with Friday's payout,

In my opinion, it's just fear-mongering because if you consider the November layoffs. Global Ops Unemployment prepaid Space let go of around 50-80 employees, but that department is closing at some point in 2026-2027 as we no longer service prepaid unemployment cards. Our last state was CA, and they signed with MoneyNetwork in 2024. I'm not shocked they were laid off since the associates were in a call listening area that only had work until November, so no one read between the lines and were just shocked. As another poster also mentioned I don't see WARN notices either. I believe we are just on a hiring freeze.
