Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

This can't last

Creating a positive work environment is, mildly put, challenging when layoffs keep happening incessantly, with no sign of an end. This constant threat of job loss has taken a toll on morale so it's no wonder how difficult it is for employees to stay motivated and engaged. It's truly disheartening to witness this ongoing cycle and it's not good for the company. This ELT is making a complete mess of this whole thing.

You must be new here. The environment of fear has been strong since 2015. Wonder why Nike is failing? This isn’t new. Bad work has been the norm for almost 10 years now.

The first one I remember was in 1999. TC was President. They gathered everyone in the Bo gym. That was a family and the Nike culture was so so much stronger. Nike today is unrecognizable.

@bkh before 2021 there was a layoff in 2020, one in 2017, and one in 2009. Before that, no idea as I was there from 2001-2016 and only had one layoff to contend with, and I was in what was PCIT then NikeTech.

I agree. Considering what has happened over the last 10 years, the layoffs are becoming more frequent. Being in such a company is not fun.
