Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

LinkedIn Posts from departing employees

I am constantly seeing new LinkedIn posts from employees leaving Hon expressing how much they enjoyed working there and what a great company Honeywell has been.

If Honeywell was so great, think we'd see a mass exodus? I am hearing about how the company is desperate to hire new engineers yet discarded so many who wouldn't bow to their covid vaccination wishes or were essentially demoralized to the point of no return. Just once, I'd like to see a post where someone tells how they had to quit, are now retired and warn off folks from buying all of the tripe being posted.

The exit LinkedIn post highlight how good one’s company is/was is truly one of the saddest things I see. How pathetic people must feel to openly lie about how good it was to work for a company which actively screwed them over with lower wages year on year and with inflation.

When will people realise we should be the ones with the power? Yet we constantly allows ourselves to be screwed.

@bpc Spot on. This wokeness/racisism cr-p is just a wedge the the Societal Elites have created to distract the rabble from the real issue of poor versus rich. There are a whole lot more poor people than rich people. And by poor people, I don't mean only welfare recipients.

@biv

Honestly the woke stuff is just a deliberate tactic of distraction by those in power. The people on top don't want anyone rocking the boat about low pay, benefits, overwork, offshoring of jobs etc so instead they drive and encourage polarizing political topics to absorb the kind of talk that otherwise would threaten their position.

The woke stuff is just the latest topic in their arsenal of distraction and misinformation...

@fha+1gf9YG7T so very true. just like trying speak-up about the woke cr-p, networks and pronouns they pushing on us at our job they shut us down when we do and are put on PIP for speaking the truth. Again how come they cant keep that cr-p other side of fence no reason needs be at our jobs? Just like how some schools teaching what gender kids want to be getting really sad. Yes its a small % but we are seeing it.

Many of us are retired or have left the industry entirely for greener pastures. Those who of us who are not stuck in the old rat race have the ability to speak our minds in hopes that someday things will improve for those we left behind.

In other words some of us have a spine and are not afraid to use it. There is no reason to be afraid when there is nothing to lose. Why is it that free speech used to be something that was encouraged rather than discouraged?

These are some of the basic things that separate mice from men. Staying quiet is just taking the easy way out.

@dmp Yeah, you may come back by choice or like in my case, I left Hon for a job at another company in the same arena. (Aero). A few years later Hon acquired the company I had gone to work for. I'm glad that I left on good terms. If I had badmouthed my old bosses and coworkers it would have been a very bad situation. It has worked out fine. Better financially than if I had stayed at Hon to begin with.

Posting negativity about Honeywell on social media when you leave will do nothing for you or anyone else. It's immature and will only hurt your career opportunities. Leaving is the best way to let Honeywell know that they have a problem. It's simple to do and you don't have to wallow in sh1t to make the point.

@wru: I left Honeywell Aero last week after 12 years. Good luck to you if you feel the need to post a negative Honeywell review in social media as it won't change anything. One more review post when there's already 10K or whatever the number of existing posts are on a site is statistically insignificant.
As I was talking with the HR manager on my exit interview she told me the current USA Honeywell attrition rate is about 8,000 (about 22%) employees annually. Everyone simply moves on to a new job or retires and it's not that big of a deal.

The huge post 777 reduction I was asked what was going on 'over there' (meaning HO) and I explained the airline 10 year cyclical BS. We became friends after I was working there a while and he said that it was a trick question to see if I was going to cr-p on HO.
Keep everything positive, even when asked about your worst failure, find the positive spin. How hard you worked, what did you take away and how it helped you grow.

The first step in process improvement is to identify the need for a change. This is a universally applicable idea. Nothing will change unless people say something.

This hush-hush attitude on linkedin is fading away as everyone is getting more and more fed up. People are making noise and those on top are terrified because it threatens the status quo.

Preaching in favor of silence only serves to help the corporate aristocracy at the expense of everyone else. Meanwhile things continue to get worse and worse. Wake up folks.

Many employers check out potential new hires' social media accounts as part of the background check process. Negative posts about a previous employer with an account with your name on it can easily remove you from being considered to be hired with a new company.
What's the point of doing it? It won't change anything and there's nothing positive that can happen in your favor.

The large amount of linked-in posts is your clue. Note: they all say they really liked the people they were working with. They touch on the company with something like "I really appreciate the opportunity".

Especially aviation, it is a small world, many people come back to Honeywell sometime in their career. HR has blacklists, otherwise you will likely have to work with Honeywell in the future, so they are avoiding burning the bridge.

I left recently. But, I never said the company was great. I did say that my colleagues are great and I thanked them. I won't badmouth a former employer on LinkedIn because it's unprofessional and would limit my future career options.
