Linkedin shows the company headcount is flat for the last two years between 44-45k while they have been hiring 300-500 new hires/month.
Based on this forum, it sounds like there was at least 2k strong RIF across functions in Q2.

Yes, because we know how great offshore talent is. Better give then step by step directions on doing everything I am sure people will be glad to know a company with American in its name fires US employees and has their data handled and stored offshore. No risk there...

Are layoffs due to 'target operating model' ?
I noticed departure of Finance, Claims and IT personnel - all Cost centers.
The count may be flat as they are hiring in low-cost cost centers such as Philippines, Latin America, India, etc
Next up, they should bring down the biggest expense –> Sales (Acquisition cost for Premium).
