We are very much still in the middle of a pandemic regardless of what Fox News wants you to think. Houston is home to every variation of COVID–19 that exist. The only reason I was OK returning to the office was the alternating schedule. Well, starting May 17, we won’t even be alternating. This company never fails to show us that they only value business and have no regard for our lives or humanity. It is not safe to force for capacity in a building when you can easily work from home. I will be finding another job and I suggest that you do the same because this complete disregard for human life and health because of “business results” aka managements careless decisions that don’t work out that somehow are our fault since were working from home. If I wasn’t sure about leaving... I’m definitely out the door now. Sayonara

You aren't quitting and if you haven't gotten vaccinated yet that's on you. Sorry you don't get to keep watching netflix everyday and have to actually work.
Alternating schedules is reasonable.
So you think you can work from home forever or something? With the vaccine you should be in good shape to return to the office with reasonable precautions. But since you're so against the company, and trying to do a rally cry on this board, you don't see it. Entitled much? Like another poster said, all talk, no quit.
Not getting a life altering or ending disease > having “stones”
I fully support you quitting. But you won't. See you next week!
I’ve got a neutered dog with more stones than you.
Lol you guys are lucky...COP made everyone go back to the office last July
The other part of everyone back to campus is that all open office desks are unassigned (first come, first serve) unless they have special ergo or computing equipment).
Why they couldn't wait until July 1st is beyond me. July 1st would give everyone who was on the fence time to get fully vaccinated with Moderna or Pfizer + 2 weeks.
DW doesn't care about morale ("the beatings will continue until morale improves"). He may also see increasing attrition to avoid having to pay PIL as a side benefit.
Requiring face coverings is useless if schedules don’t alternate because everyone takes them off at their desk and sits there for hours. That’s when people will get infected.
It’s like they wake up and say “how can we make morale even lower today” every day.
“Enhanced cleaning” = janitor rubbing a dirty rag across your desk and everyone else’s
It’s impossible to properly social distance in research forest and those that are vaccinated are gambling their lives with those that aren’t. Some people being vaccinated isn’t a free pass to start living pre–covid life.
@OP – do it
The people that have not gotten a shot(s) at this point are ones likely not interested or don't believe. They will be around for years. Most companies are starting to trickle back to the office. The cushy deal of working from home is ending. You will achieve absolutely nothing by leaving. Deal with it, or go ahead and give your job to someone else.
You do know the vaccine doesn’t prevent anyone from getting covid, only from covid making you really sick? Just because you have a vaccine doesn’t mean you should be willing to risk covid... people covid conscious enough to get the vaccine know that it’s not a pass to be reckless.
I think this time "back on campus" is reasonable: most folks who want to get a vaccine already have one; we know that Moderna/Pfizer is safe and I am sure you can ask for few weeks extension if you are in the process of getting one.
