I literally collect a paycheck to do nothing as well. M plate covers my gas expenses too.

OP must be the manager of “Security Services.”
Their goal is to collect FF miles and hotel points for family vacations.
At company expense.
That’s how Ford Next was able to lose $5 billion annually.

Hopefully the new guy is paying attention, knowing which employees have earned a layoff could be helpful to the bottom line.

This is a tangible employment action, neglect came when they coordinated retaliation under false pretenses from your manager. Lawyer up asap. Are you in Michigan?

An emergency room visit typically indicates a serious medical condition, protected by FMLA. As long as you worked at least 12 months, 1,250 hours in the last year. Routine illness such as a common cold is not protected FYI. Your situation is far more serious.

I strongly recommend promptly consulting an employment attorney to protect your rights and clarify your specific options.

You’re one of the lucky ones. I spent a week with no days off then get retaliated against because I was went to the emergency room on arrival after I got back from my first week off. This was an additional week off during our Christmas / new years holiday. They acted as if I wasn’t sick. I had a doctor’s note. They made actions against me under false pretense. Trust but verify means nothing they don’t assume positive intent they just want to condition and train you to not see your family again. I had lost family members that year and I hadn’t seen some of my cousins in 15 years since they are all abroad and I don’t have any family in the states. The next time I took days off were for the next year which I paid in max for a salary cut to be able to visit another wedding abroad in the summer. I didn’t make it that long in terms of using my vacation days because I had to take time for mental health purposes due to retaliation. I tried to combine efforts and dual use those vacation (mental health days) as much since they were necessary due to severe workplace conditions. You seen to have a different experience!

I believe you. I used to do this as an FCSD (Ford Customer Service Division) employee. this was a great job! Earned diamond status with Hilton and 700k flight miles.

Keep up the good work!

No, posts like these can be real for sure. My co-worker takes a company m-plate on a regular basis to manage their side gig. Every week. In fact he's got one most of this week and all this weekend....lots of side hustle work to do. And it comes in handy that the m-plates are trucks. Free gas, free insurance, no miles on personal vehicle. Cannot beat that!

And management does nothing. Vehicle control does nothing. HR especially does nothing. They are are useless and/or in on it.

These are toll posts. Even if work was slow, no one would tell everybody about it. Can't wait for this same post in a few more days - alongside more insider knowledge of layoffs. 🙄

Loser mentality. Yeah the company is a sh-tshow but if you're not getting anything out of it the only person you're hurting is you.
