According to the press release, "Kyndryl evokes the spirit of true partnership and growth," said Martin Schroeter, Chief Executive Officer of Kyndryl, and I can't even.

Well, seems like they watched Peep show too much :-D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgveuzf-ZZw
Kyndryl (Kyndrylus antiquus) looks and sounds like the word Pterodactyl (Pterodactylus antiquus), an extinct species of flying reptiles.
Wow, how did they not see this when they came up with this name.
Kyndryl HQ was also announced: NYC. I wonder what sort of tax incentives and other perks Kyndryl was able to extort from the State of NY?
They should have just made "NewCo" the permanent name, would've been better.

Always complaining here, and if it were a name, a mission: dry (that Co.) gently ? xD
Fun historical callback: Many of us remember that GBS was initially created by IBM buying the consulting arm of PwC... and thereby saved it from the ridicule being heaped on it for its prior plan to spin out the business under the name "Monday".
Because everybody loves Monday, right?
And yes, somebody got paid buckets of money for that one, too.
I can’t believe it
It’s horrible
Apparently the name is formed from bits of "kin" and "tendril". Really.
I guess nobody involved realized that tendrils are parasitic. Although ironically...
the name is not simple, it's not clear, it's not professional!
Kyndryl is a modern adaptation of two words that are central to the new company's identity and mission.
"Kyn" is derived from the word "Kindergarten", referencing the emotional and intellectual level of the leadership. "Dryl" comes from "Benadryl", reminding you to take lots of it in order to cure the sleepless nights that will result from doing business with or working for the company.
They chose this name only because domain name was available. Why invest $1MM for a decent name when you can get a domain on godaddy for $9.99
Sounds like a medicine name 😂
sounds like a company with a Kyle running it, and side kick Karen.
Epic fail on marketing strategy of a Brand New company.
Instead of going to Kyndyrl, they will go with Kindle :-)))))
I just wonder how many people worked on coming up with that name... I would have chosen BMI
Perfect example of ibm marketing bloat and uselessness. Can’t even come up with a simple good new company name.
Why the y?
Naming fail.
Can't wait for these guys to be off IBM's book... just to see how IBM is going to perform going forward... no more excuse since GTA was apparently dragging the whole company down!!!
May be then we will get bonuses higher than $30!!
spends millions on marketing companies to come up with this c*p
you know it's a st—dname when you have to explain on your home page. It's like having to explain a joke.
'kin h–lThe jokes write themselves.
I guess IBM kept all the vowels in the spinoff.
