Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Be prepared to stay in your role forever

With the new RTO plan, unless you resides in BR, NYC, or Irving, you will not be getting promoted. All future hirings will now be out of those central hubs. Which means if you will not be getting promoted unless you move. Does anyone understand how crazy this is???

@cd it’s about having no one there to get things done in order to get their attention

Fight the man and join the 99% by calling out or using PTO on 9/9!

Probably the reason behind level up. Pacify us with a title bump and measly 3% increase in pay since and real promotions are few and far between.

How are people making the leap from the statement about no new hirings outside of the three hubs to concluding no promotions outside of those hubs? I don’t get it

"All future hirings..."

So does this mean they no longer will be displacing American workers by hiring out of India?

I'm super surprised about the Atlanta area being a "non-hub"! Sure it could be a smaller office but it was, for a long time, one of the major areas for people to relo to, I know several myself.
Will be interesting to see how it shakes out - I know a bunch of people in the Denver-Lone Tree area too!
