The peek of this wave is expected to be 3rd or 4th week of January, so i would say 1st or 2nd week of February, unless there is another wave [which most likely come at some point and we will be sent back home].

Mid/late January then we’re good until spring break. Then a spike. But probably not all out of office until the post Memorial Day spike then the 4th of July spike. Then few weeks between September and November then off again after thanksgiving.

@OP March at the earliest.

If it hasn’t happened by June it probably won’t happen in 2022.

@cdf Are you being sarcastic? The news was blasted from every channel. I found out via work email, straight to voicemail message, phone call, text, and CVX even emailed my personal account that’s registered with the emergency whatever acronym.

If there is not another variant, we should be back by April or May.

Is this official? I haven’t seen any communication about this. Or are you guys presuming based on the surge in the virus?

I would anticipate Jan 31. We will be well on the downslope by then.

It all depends on how long this surge lasts and what is on the way. If it goes away the same way as in S. Africa, we might be back in office early/mid Feb. If new surges happen or it lasts longer given that it somehow evades the vaccine, then it will be April.

Who knows. It’s this how 2021 started out. We were going to go back in the new year and then it slid and slid and slid again. It may be 2023 before we get back in the office from the flu.

It’s never going to end. The only way we could end it is if we stop talking about it on the news.

Hopefully they postpone it for much longer. Management is desperate though to get everyone is as it will magically heal the company after a brutal layoff. As mentioned below the office is open if you desperately want to be back but few are taking them up on it. Let's be smart and keep work from home. If you work out in the field our thanks to you but we don't have to work in person just because you have to. Different career choices.

@PermianCVX as they have said since June of 2020, the offices remain open for any id--ts who want to work from there. From what I've heard from the metrics tracked via badging in/out, no more than 10% has ever been back to the office. Folks are voting with their feet.

No one is saying you can't work in the office. If your home is such a he-l-ho-e, go on in! No one is stopping you!
