Tbh mediocrity is the number one disease among white people in a corporate setting. They project this mediocrity through racist whining about immigrants and H1Bs. Yes there are issues with taking advantage of H1Bs, but that's no excuse for mediocrity. It comes from within and an sense of entitlement.
last I checked the top 100 are in the company are mostly white older males and most of execs in Model e are white male.

Well said. Personally I think we ought to be taking care of our own and by that I mean American citizens. We need to reign in this H1B cheap labor BS that is being abused. These managers that engage in what appears to be nepotism is just them exploiting people because they know what buttons to push and how to squeeze them. Sure, some of it is nepotism. But management has gotten away with this cheap labor for far too long and the work has really suffered because of it.
People love to pretend that non-whites stole jobs. I'm a black woman and was laid off so I find it funny and pathetic this strange attitude. We alll got our degrees. I wasn't picked off of the streets of Detroit and told to kick a white fella in the face and take his job at Ford. Get over yourselfs.

The amount of white nationalist racist people in this forum is alarming. FYI- I know that this comment will be deleted because I suspect the moderators are in the aforementioned demographic.
How is it “racist” to point out the obvious fact there are very few non-DEI eligible people in model e’s core engineering group? It’s just the fact.

Despite the obviously racist remarks (e.g., non-DEI = white), I agree that Model E has been a huge drag on the company. Their operating loss (billions) has impacted every other org. Nowadays, I can’t spend $100 on a FAB card without an inquisition! I wouldn’t mind the sacrifice we all have to make for Model E if they weren’t so condescending and smug about it! Even worse is that Model E bullies the rest of the company until they get want they want, compliance and security be damned! How about you adopt a more humble attitude until you actually “save the company?” Current state is that you are a liability not an asset.

Do not trust if any id--t false praises Model e. Truth is it su-ks and will bankrupt the company.
Criticism is a trend here, but the truth is that Model e is the single most important organization in the company. It is paving our future business direction. Great responsibility comes in Model e, which is why our best leaders are there. It is a start-up within the company. Stop it with the expectation of instant gratification, that doesn't apply in such a business model.
Is that why they have the Skunkworks team?
To get out of the old way of doing things and innovate?

Model e fired or force-retired a lot of good people over the past couple of years.
Very few non-DEI types left in the organization. Not much diversity, especially in the “core” groups.
There are so many directors in Model E, 95% of them are overpaid and incompetent. Cronyism at the highest levels. Ford really hired the “wrong stuff”.
Where is the North Korean Model e guy to tell us how great it is going to be?
Most people in model e just seem to be building a resume until they can transfer somewhere else

OP, I am in model e and agree with your assessment. I am planning to leave soon. I have heard enough big talk everyday and don't want to be fooled any more. They are clueless and will never succeed.
