There's nothing like self-created fire drills.

Still no goals. FFS, its 3/24 and they are due 3/31. They've talked about it more than actually doing it! SMART stands for Still Making Assinine Requests Today.
Yup. And the odd thing is there's supposed to be quarterly checks (uh, we're at the end of first quarter). Then review inputs etc. start in October (or about there). So we've gone through 1st quarter, and you'll have to provide input on accomplishments in October -- roughly 7 months. Granted, many of us are carrying over work from last year but still.
Ever been in a group where they lazily take enterprise- or division-level objectives and push them all the way down verbatim so you can shoehorn your or your team's activity under them? As if there were thoughtful, S-M-A-R-T goals all along?
Awesome fun
Goals, you mean at WF? LOL.
Goal number one: Try to wfh as much as possible
Goal number two: Try to not work in the office as much as possible.
Seriously though, our manager just forwarded the email and said to create some goals. Thats how much he gives a shatt about goals. So, if he doesn't care, then I don't.
Main goal: Work, collect paycheck, rinse, repeat.
Still no goals here and manager is going out on PTO.
The earnestness around goals here is non-existent at best and completely disingenuous at best. Or maybe the other way around. Been around to see the objectives-setting methodologies at other places. None seem great, some are at least consistent across years and leader levels... Here it's pure theatre.
Looking back on stints in various groups that furiously compiled Accomplishments decks for year end, transitions or re-orgs...realizing the exercises were always teeth-pulling because none of the groups had any real goals. Layers and layers of resources content with confusing activity for achievement.
Upcoming call to define them with my manager. Supposed to be tailored to me, but this place has never even half-heartedly invested in developing it's employees.
Garbage goals were entered for me by the leaders of a garbage company.
got mine last week and propogated them down to my team using workday in all of 30 seconds. will go in after the fact and fine-tune to be more individual in nature during 1 on 1s with each team member. you can and should also add your own goals for yourself.
They are pushing for more matrix and it sounds like year-end performance might be desired based on those matrix. Very convenient if they want to get people fire for non performances.

I’m in technology and have not received any goals. Asked management and they weren’t sure what to put for goals.
I had to create my own. Total BS.
My manager told us "goals are not important" and that they have not done them yet. They will let us know when they do.
We received goals over a week ago in Technology that include combined success criteria under the Six-S strategy with an option to customize where applicable and have already been entered in Workday for our teams. These will be discussed in both a dept. Meeting and 1/1s during the quarterly check-in process, which will be documented in Workday. Not all groups are experiencing fire drills.
And year-ends in October....🙄
Mgr completed for whole team......agree performance BS for documentation.
Mgr went over everyone's goals in team meeting, kept saying "we" want this "we" believe this....since he's so scary, I didn't want to ask who "we" is :O (don't bash me for my comment!)
Haven't even gotten ours rolled down yet at all. the 31st is getting closer every day...
That's two months earlier than usual. Nothing like the good old days of plugging in the year's goals, and a mere 30 days later...it's time for Midyears!
Yup. Just this morning.
It was a bunch of performative corporate BS. I’ve literally talked to my one up more in the last 24 days than I have in the last 24 months. “Yes, Rachael I understand the goals that are being spelled out to me, but do you understand that my only goal this year is to survive and leave you here to rot when I eventually quit?” I feel like I’m going to re earn my crown as the office A Ho-e in the coming days.
