Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

INTEL down fall is a big sad story for SEMI industry

First of all, I am not Intel employee, but I can feel the pain of working there at this time.

I feel sad for the employees who will be impacted and pay for the mistakes that senior executives, VPs, Director and managers made. I worked for a few companies that were in similar situation. They always let the working level pay for their mistakes. Working level follows their decision, order and direction. The leaders let you guys into sinkhole, and they escape by stepping on your bodies.

The sad thing is, these Intel managers, directors, VPs are getting jobs with fat pay at AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Broadcom and Apple. They bring the "Intel culture" to other companies like disease. Soon, AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm will become the next Intel.

@yrc+1tPiazrq I finally left intel 4yrs ago. But it took me almost 5 to get out. I applied for roles almost the entire time. The intel stink is real. Ex intel guys are made fun of all the time at Apple, albeit in a friendly way, but still. My

No one likes how intel approaches problem solving and especially no one likes the penchant for acronyms.

It’s a sad story for America. We won the Cold War because we won the Chip War. Now we are losing. Intel is now run like a third world company, Bollywood movie maker.

Unfortunately you are correct. We all know people looking to bail. Well how many actually have? They can’t - no one hires us. We have a reputation and stigma associated with having Intel on your resume. Let’s be honest we think we are the best. We are co--y. But the rest on industry see us as a bunch of hacks and clown buffoons. Good luck to everyone but just be real we are the mo--ns of industry.

Agree with this …. But it’s also damaging for employees who are getting laid off , as everyone is tarnished with the same brush. There are many thousands of excellent people at Intel , I hope they aren’t all considered sh-t as that’s simply not the case.

Good point. Intel caught a disease called Microsoft years ago when managers started saying let’s downsize testing and validation like Microsoft and just let the customer find and report the bugs.
