Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Survival without respecting workers and clients?

I understand this business model less than ever. ATT doesn’t value employees, ATT doesn’t value clients, every day there are fewer and fewer of us and the clients - so what do they think this business model should be based on? Their business logic is strange.
Maybe that model is sustainable, but certainly not for long. I don’t know of any company that has managed to do that, that they don’t value anyone, and that the business survives and grows.

You are spot on. These posts are from a few washed up whiners! Their posts and complaints are all the same....nothing different... comments are just sad and pathetic. Elementary schoolers can teach these people something about manners and name calling.

As others have stated, treat this like a job. I know it stings since most of us here are passionate, try to do our best and wanted a career trajectory. That’s just not going to happen no matter how hard you try. If you are level 2 and lower, forget about it. Do what they ask, punch the clock and go home. Very few get tapped to move up.

Build a life and wealth outside your job. If you are looking for satisfaction and verification from your JOB, you will be disappointed every time. Create your own business, find a side hustle. Use your JOB to pay the bills while you get that going. Once you find that side thing, you will care less and less about your JOB. This is a means to an end. Find that end. Then cut the cord.

To @cqf+19jBxt7d ; You are right but it is pretty pathetic and demoralizing and NOT all companies are like this that I can tell you. Most people are not wired to not give a sh*t but I guess it can be learned/

It's a couple of washed out ex-employees doing the whining, with repeat posts.

Agree these boards are getting pretty old with all the whining, I agree with the post above..

Here's a couple of rules of thumb that will make you're employment at T more bearable.

  • It's a JOB , plain and simple that's it , no it's not a "Family" or a "team" , its a paycheck in exchange for your time and duty their.
  • Don't stress about customers or clients "happiness", it's not your company., , that's managements job , if you have no authority you also have no obligation to be concerned about the business.
  • This is a big legacy public company, there's a lot of career trajectories going in all directions, hence dispense with any notions of loyalty for hard work.
  • Most people of a certain age, know the game, they're not gonna rock the boat, neither should you.

In a nutshell, don't k–l yourself for T, come in , do your sh*t and collect your check... life will go on.

Why do you care?
They don't.
It's a job. You show up to make $$$$.
It's not a social event , a party, a place to make friends.
Your 2nd level doesn't even know your name, or care to.
A paycheck, as big as you can make it, in the shortest time possible.
Be in the middle.
you and your family are the buzzing of flies to them. And you will be swatted at the first opportunity.
Smile, wave.."Yes sir/ma'am"
Profit.
Survive.
I have no idea how folks don't get that.
