Has anyone been asked to move yet?
Is this just a scare tactic to get people to quit and they won’t actually enforce it fully? I keep getting told I’ll be impacted, but no timeframe or details at all

Yes, it is real. I was impacted last fall when I wouldn’t relocate to Phoenix. I’m still looking for work.
Yup. A peer of mine was asked to relocate from CA to AZ.

Hey, join the line - it starts two miles from here. 1st line managers and individual contributors do not know their date, unless their supervisor leaked it before The Call arrived. People in strategic locations aren't automatically safe due to the reduction headcount initiative. We are all just riding the coach until we are kicked off.
It's real. Impacted me and many others.
Unless you are an executive who wants to move to a city that's not a location and then all of a sudden it is so they can live there. Different rules for execs I hear
Definitely yes as others have mentioned. We've shed too many people and those of us left are reeling from the impact. Truly astonishing how quickly things have gone bad more than it is already. On top that we are losing some who are the sole SMEs in the group/area, no backup, no offshore, nothing. Yet they are being shown the door without thought or awareness of the risk associated with letting them go. It's hard to believe this can go on much longer like this without a serious, perhaps bank ending or nearly so result.
Does the bank even exist ? I’m telling you that MFer Shart isn’t REAL.
Oh it's real, it's damn real!
Not going to mention my group but, but it's technology, software engineering. It was hinted to me that I will receive my official notice related to LS in the next couple weeks sometime.
A lot of people will be finding out this week.
That's pretty funny. I'm sure it depends on the specific group, but I see newbies join all the time that have no idea what they are doing and because of that they propose all kinds of stupid ideas that have no hope of working. Some newbs come in and make a real effort to ask questions and learn the relevant details, but they are the minority.
"We're losing a lot of corporate knowledge"
lol at @cs+1jsn1acgj
We ain't losing sh--e. That "knowledge" is just a bunch of bs unnecessary processes and procedures so someone can act like a gatekeeper and get paid alot of money for just shuffling papers around and giving their worthless approvals.
No, it's just a figment of your imagination.
I'm telling you, I'm getting the F off and there is a reason why I'm getting the F off and everyone can either believe it or they cannot believe it, I don't give two Fs. But I am telling you right now, this MF bank is NOT REAL. And you can stay with this MF bank and you can die with them or not, I'm not going to.
Is life even real?
It's real, but there are people that aren't willing to pull up roots to move to another city and all that goes it with plus still be at risk of being laid off. There are no guarantees. Plus, there are many people that are older and simply don't want to move to Charlotte or whatever city they have to move to. We're losing a lot of corporate knowledge.
"yes my colleague in Colorado was offered relocation to charlotte which she declined, wasn’t interested in moving to a red state"
Yeah, because actually doing any financial analysis to see if there is any incentive to relocate doesn't matter at all...priceless.
It's real. It's still happening.
Ok
It’s very real and know many people that declined the offer to relocate and know of two that have relocated. Company paid for it. It’s still ongoing.
It's a real excuse for downsizing, that's about the extent of it.
I was offered a relocation package last April. I’m with a new company now. No guarantee that they will keep you even if you move for them.
So because you haven't been impacted yet means it isn't happening? That's some small mindedness.
If your job isn't in one of the core markets, you are being laid off. Start looking.
Yes it’s real.
Jobs are moving overseas that’s your location strategy lol
yes my colleague in Colorado was offered relocation to charlotte which she declined, wasn’t interested in moving to a red state
I know many who gone though it, given the option to relocate or be severed. I too however I will be hit at some point this year but no one is able to give me an actual date. I'd say yes it does happen and they'd purposely arw vague on dates so you start looking now and potentially get something before you are actually impacted
