I don’t wish layoffs on anyone - it usually works out ok but it’s hard on many. And yes Ive been in 2 other companies where whole departments were moved and cut so Ive been there. I think the environment at Anthem right now feels like we could go at anytime. Sad what happened to the culture!!!! For me - I am absolutely ready-
@op have you ever been laid off before? Just curious.
Yes you are alone you loser.
@OP Absolutely not!!! I do not wish to get laid off!!! A stressful job is still less stressful than looking for a job in my opinion.
It is easier to get a job when you have a job...that being said working here has a negative impact on future employers. They have a significant negative opinion of this place and that stink can stick to you. It's sad. I would actively look for another job and frankly even if it was a cut in pay that you could live with you might at least sleep and have some peace. If you are working more than 40 hrs a week you need to really think about how much money you are making and NOT making. Once you get another job, give your 2 weeks and keep your mouth shut about where you go. Reason for leaving "personal/family matter" nothing more.
No, you do not want to be laid off right now. The job market is horrific, take it from someone who was looking for 7 months after my RIF.
@dx misguided frustration much? I hear you and know the type you're referring to...just not sure how you can to your conclusion here. Given the context of the thread, I picked up on sarcasm.
@cv Hi I know you. You’re the one who bullies everyone who doesn’t agree with you. You’re the one who’s been in the same area for a long time and think you own the place. You’re the one who trains the new people incorrectly but lies and tells everyone the trainee is incompetent to protect yourself against riff. You constantly gossip about your coworkers cause you don’t have a life outside work. Leadership just keeps you around because you don’t have a life and works 80 hours a week giving them free labor.
Try to stop caring or gaf about work. I don’t think you’d want to be riffed in this job market. Hard to do when you have a work ethic but I think greedy corporations will eventually ki-l everyone’s work ethic. It just doesn’t pay anymore to care anymore. Every time I try to care or be helpful I’m just knocked down a couple rungs by leadership so what’s the point? This job pays way more than anything I’ve seen in my area recently so that has been my only reason to stay. My last role was way more toxic than this role I’m currently in so I guess that’s a plus. But damn this place goes further downhill everyday and I now I should just coast as long as I can because the riff will come fo-e us all eventually .
Being unemployed in a terrible economy is not fun. Been there a couple of times. Unless you have a wealthy benefactor to support you and if that's the case why are you working a likely menial job anyway?
Go on government benefits. Help to crash our toxic economy! There's always work at ICE.
Absolutely not. The job market is tough currently. It’s heavily competitive. Be careful what you wish for.
I love my job.
Hope it gets more tolerable for you @OP. That’s a sh---y place to be.
Here! Here! I volunteer as a tribute-
I think even as bad as the job market is,many of us are with you.
The job market is awful so I am just hanging on by a thread at this sh-t hole.
In the words of MJ "you are not alone".
