I use to work at WF in security and risk and today a WF recruiter sent me an email for a technology risk management role. The posting said its only in hubs: West Des Moines, Tempe, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Plano. Hybrid 3 days office and 2 days remote. Only existing WF employees will be considered for allowance to work in non-hub locations.
I would never go back to Wells Fargo I have PTSD from that wicked place and am sad it hasn't been completely broken up by regulators.
Believe me, working in a non hub location for existing employees is extremely arbitrary. It's all based on favoritism. Manager will tell you 1 thing if they like you, another if they don't. It's not based on work ethic, just if they "like" you. Especially in Operations Risk- Stress Testing.
Hub designations seem highly arbitrary… one of our department heads relocated to another city with a large WF presence but virtually nobody from our lob based there. All of a sudden it is now designated as a hub for our lob.

within risk managers are allowed to hire in non hub for internal candidates but not external unless they get necessary approvals. even for internal not all managers chose to hire in non hub and want people in hubs.

CA is a shrink market for most LOBs.
