WEC Data center lease will be extended to 2026. Not sure what that means for non data center folks. And I doubt anyone on this thread knows either. Wells is such a mess.

The five different sources point back to this website.

I have heard various rumors from 5 different sources (including this site) concerning WEC and upcoming layoffs. The details may vary but the constant has been that something big will happen in March and June.

As far as WARN notices go, my understanding is that’s why there’s the extra “notice period” before severance when you’re technically still a paid employee. That way they can file the WARN notices the same day they tell people they’re being displaced, rather than tip their hand ahead of time. So if people are getting told they’re displaced in March, that’s a WARN notice saying layoffs in May or whatever.

And what is that timeline?

You are correct that FHO is very understaffed for the amount of work they're currently responsible for. However, that doesn't change the fact they've been ordered to cut ~40 headcount this year.

It s*cks that they have things that far in the backlog, but some teams are just treading water at this point and the cuts won't help. But upper leadership doesn't care about that.

If it is truly up in June and you have that inside, it would have already been renewed by now. They renew properties like that more than a year in advance.

And the data center only requires about 20 people to maintain

FHO is already understaffed. I have requests with them in their backlog greater than 3 months now that they haven’t even started on.

Lease is up in June. It will be renewed, given the current timeline for legacy data centers. Who knows what will be decided next year.

Other than trying to stir the pot, what makes you think March will bring a huge culling of heads? WF would have to place a WARN notice. I think it will be SSDD: some layoffs here and there due to efficiency. There are plenty of remote workers still on payroll without a medical requirement.

I'm talking just about the third floor. Other floors might be different. Or they might not be.

The last rumors I heard are that the lease is up at the end of 2025. People need to be out sooner, probably June. Sure, the datacenter exit plan changed so that the WEC DC has to be empty by 2027. But, they don't need to keep the other floors to empty the DC.

As for the timeline, FHO is going to be hit in March AND May. March will be for efficiency. May will be for location. If you're in FHO, dust off your resume. And upskill, upskill, upskill.

Yes it is inevitable. The risk vs returns just don’t make sense.
