Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Imagine - an RTO story.

Imagine telling your employees for 2 years that you care about their physical and mental health. Imagine acknowledging that your employees want and deserve a more flexible working environment and that you are dedicated to providing it. Imagine clearing several huge regulatory hurdles while your teams are 100% wfh. Imagine the massive savings from not needing so many physical locations.

Now imagine telling all of your employees to go fu-k themselves because because full RTO is coming and any flexibility that existed is gone. Don't like it? Too bad. A recession is coming so there will be a line of people ready to take your job without any flexibility.

Fu-k Wells.
Fu-k Charlie.
It's time to unionize.

And that's why there is so much employee pushback on RTO, no legitimate reason is given, just do what I say. We are adults, not children.

Just a thought, how does leadership think that we will encourage people in our respective communities to do business with WF? Since being hired for a fully remote position, then forced into an expensive, tiring, soul-sucking office situation, I ‘ve made it my personal mission to make sure no one in my sphere ever does business with this criminal organization.

I spend ZERO FU----G DOLLARS at the office. I refuse to enable this. They get me on monthly parking, and that’s it.

Hey there beaver belly, I was WFH for years before COVID and was a top performer. I was treated like an adult/respected and all the company cared about was my work product and performance. Now we're treated like children to young to understand that their parents are lying to their face. Some id--ts actually like it.

Nailed it. I’ve sacrificed many things for this place but that’s well over since Charlie and his execs joined. No thanks. Far past the point of return too, there’s really not much they could do at this point to convince me otherwise.

Sounds like you are the one who is running errands and watching Judge Judy on company time. Don’t judge the rest of us by your bs work ethic.

@ 1ilw+1ldW8I8L, shut your filthy hoar mouth! How dare you equate RTO with going back to work??? As a manager, I’ve toed the company line & RTO’d my 3 days a week since March, only to hear, haha! We were just kidding but now we’re serious & enforcing it. This is just one of many reasons I’ll be retiring in a couple months (very early, cuz I can). However, here’s the thing, during the two years full remote, I quickly settled into starting work the same time I’d normally leave home & stopping for the day at the time when I’d previously arrive home…or later. So yeah, Wells got 80+ free bonus minutes (my round trip commute) from me every day. Now? Pretty much same…only, when I’m in the office, I leave an hour earlier than before cuz I always work through lunch, no breaks. And the time I am there, I have to deal with interruptions I never have at home. And now, since my time is finite, when I’m home, I go ballz to the wall since I’m wrapping things up. Today, at home was 7 am to 5 pm, no breaks, SUPER productive except for the dirty dishes and laundry waiting to be put away. Ooops! I did manage to pet the cat once or twice.

And can I say….I am SO proud of not spending one single penny at or near my workplace since RTO began? Except for transit costs - no choice there.

Just got an invite next week for RTO updates, already do the 3 in 2 remote, we will see what this is about? Really hoping not having to go back to office 5 days a week.

Imagine paying your employees to stay home for 3 years and then watching them throw baby fits when it’s time to get back to work.

I know. I know. You’re more productive at home. Unfortunately running errands, cleaning the house and watching Judge Judy doesn’t count as being productive.

Well, to you maybe. To the people who sign your paycheck, not so much.

Hence we have severe local worker shortage, exactly what H1 and OPT worker visas are for

TBH, If Charlie had been playing fair with employees this past 3 1/2 years, I would probably feel different about RTO. I wouldn’t love it, but I would put on my big girl pants and be a professional and get back to it.

But he has done nothing but disrespect us, push us to the limit, lay off our friends, force- rank us, give $hitty raises, offshore our jobs, hold the constant threat of layoffs over our heads, be secretive and cold, create a toxic work environment and so on.

Never thought I would say this at this point in my career, but I agree with the OP: F Charlie.

Remember, there are (approx) 250,000 of us and 1 of him. He can’t do your job, and he definitely can’t do all of our jobs. Stand strong and stand united..

Maybe you mean F corporations. A small fraction will unionize, the underperformers. The rest of us will be taking your raises and bonuses.

I would say going from 5 days to 3 days in the office is flexible. If the rest of you would do it then the C suites wouldn't care. Now they're trying to be much more rigid because we didn't listen the first time. It's like telling my four year old to brush his teeth 8 times, then you need to give him a little swat to make him listen.

It's already in place for a lot of managers in certain LOBs. The idea is that if your team is coming in, you should "lead the way" by coming in even more. It's nonsense for anyone, but complete bunk if you're not colocated anyway. As far as my team is concerned, I'm 100% remote and always will be. I'm not, but I don't need to crush their dreams for no reason. FRTO/FNYC/FCS/FSP.

I heard 4 days per week is coming. Some of the loser executives are already forcing this on their directs. This is what bad leaders look like

I won't give them that satisfaction so long as I can resist from within. Right is on our side and we can outlast the NYC sc-m.

Imagine telling your employees that they meet expectations because they RTO and do whatever you ask but you don’t give them enough work. Imagine how those employees feel about their careers. Imagine their frustration level.

Its amazing how much spare time you complainers have on your hands. Again- if you don't like the circumstances of your job, quit. There are plenty of people that have been recently displaced who would love to take your position.

Been with Wells Fargo a long time. Have always been meets or exceeds. The one thing always missing was being happy.

The flexibility that the pandemic brought made me happy. As did not sitting in traffic for 2 hours each day. Now I think about quitting or unalive-ing myself every day.

Remember, never spend money in or near your work location.

Don't use the vending machines. Put your food and drinks for the day in the fridge at work (or bring an insulated lunch bag with one of those blue frozen things to keep your stuff cool).

Get gas by your home, not near your work.

No money means local businesses need to actually earn their business instead of thinking it's an entitlement. It's that entitled thinking that got politicians to pressure the C suite.

The bigger issue with RTO is tax breaks related to real estate, but that answer is also simple. Sell the properties or pay the early term fee on the lease. It's still a savings to the bank.

Never relent on fighting RTO any way that you can. The difference between us and the C suite is the we genuinely care about this topic - they don't. It's just an unemotional business item to them. They'll get sick of the complaints, game playing, etc. and will finally rid the bank of needless campuses.
