Just retired from T after a very lengthy career. I never received a congralatory or best wishes email from my 1st level, 2nd level, 3rd level or 4th! They are a disgrace to their positions and clueless on how to manage people. So happy to be out of that asylum, long overdue!

Yes, and most (non-st00ge) employees abhor the faux “leadership”…from (excessive) VP’s up to the C suite & (complicit) BoD.

I was recently surplus with 25 years of service. No I was offered a job in Dallas, but I declined to move. My exit interview was scheduled days in advance at 10 AM local time. My manager didn’t show up for the call. At 10:30 I called him on his cell. Of course he was home doing personal business the background noise included him washing dishes he had forgotten that we even had a call. Talk about not giving a cr-p about an employee. I’m not making this up. AT&T does not care about their employees. Period.
I got surplussed at 22 years -- my direct mgr called me on my last day - nobody else above him even attempted to reach out to me. No 'thank you for everything' or 'GTFO'. Just ... nothing. Typical T experience.
This was my exact same experience. Even my closest co-workers and confidants ghosted me leading up to my last week. So much for treating people like you would like to be treated.

Nobody cares dude. Sad maybe, but that’s just where things are these days in this super healthy “culture”.
They don’t care, you are just a number in today’s T. That’s why a lot of us say to take care of number one and it’s only a paycheck. I quit going the extra mile because it’s never remembered or awarded it’s always, what have you done for me today or going to do tomorrow? You did 99.9% right but we are going to focus on the .1% that was wrong.The days of achievement recognition, loyalty, tenure, merit, trust, family atmosphere are long gone when the boys from SBC took over and ran the company into the Grand Canyon. There is always the threat of dismissal or forced relocation hanging over all.

Well, they aren’t chosen for their leadership ability nor their business prowess. Most are just somebody’s buddy or a yes person. Most are just clueless and everyone under them knows it.
