Was invited for quick meeting at 9:30AM for 30 minutes.
My manager along with someone from TPO joined the call.
RIF terms to be kept confidential.
My manager promised me to consider me when some position open,
TPO asked me to forward resume to cognizant manager as I have 10+ years experience in FIS.
For last few weeks, was working on process documentation. I think that was indication for what was coming.

@dk Ian, is that you? Only someone with a higher level position would get a deal like that.
This doesn't sound like any of the other RIFs that took place.
@OP So sorry this happened to you. How odd they asked you to forward your resume to cognizant instead of rebadging you. However if you received a severance package then you got a bonus some did not. If you can, check with others who have gone to the cog and see what they have experienced.
So sorry to hear that this happened to you. It's just awful. Consider you when a position comes open? If they are laying off employees, why would they be hiring at any point soon. That was said for their benefit, not yours.
Which group? Banking? Cto?
