@dt+1jrjywf0p The only thing that’s created fear and anxiety is this company’s toxic culture that’s been created over the years. Having worked in other business units I can say the Lloyd district is bottom of the barrel. It’s a different vibe. Time to trim excess fat. Along with thermal management, they could start with the bloated maintenance group starting with schedulers right on up.

Mostly mid and downstream will be impacted I'm sure, but the thermal Lloyd business is going to need a face lift. Our competition doesn't have this much "fluff" in SAGD operations, leadership will be pushed to must have vs nice to have operations (engineering, ops, maint, hr, etc..) at some point. Having top tier assets means nothing if you have 2x or 3x hands pulling salary...I'm not saying it's right to exclude people from our resources/ collection of a salary, it's just a place the company will need to get to if they want to maintain operational competitiveness... The only they we have is scale right now, which drives opex low compared to other smaller producers.. we need scale and procedure optimization (less people to review). Why are we paying engineers if a simple decision needs two or three approvals for a simple change !! Most won't even stamp or know how to. Just pay one engineer and replace others with techs so only the engineer neets to make the final decision. this is just one example from what I have seen in other departments.

This is totally baseless and just an effort to create anxiety - as another post said, someone wanting to stir the pot.
Layoffs have been confirmed for downstream tech services and integration in Calgary, that was communicated to all downstream staff already. Don’t make things up to cause more worry in people then they already have.

You have to be pretty d*mb to work in oil and gas and still vote Liberal.

Mind you that's 95 percent of this conservative hick town, indoctrinated by years of oil/gas lobbyists and NIMBY's.

See this is my point in another post. All this chatter about layoffs but no clarification from our leadership. It’s like a rudderless ship. Either come out on Helix and say yes there or are not layoffs. We’re all adults and can handle the truth. Worst leaders ever.

Perhaps start at CPL, Refinery, Upgrader, Ethanol, Construction and Husky Midstream. Start at SR Coordinator level and up, please don’t forget to purge engineering.

Thermal sr coordinators and up. Useless training group. The list is long with the number of staff in the office who provide no value and have no direct reports
