Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

4/1 Layoff Count

Almost 500 people downsized, and we're officially back to averaging over 1k a month, just like the peak layoff seasons the last few years. FHY.

When I think about the sustained volume of people being displaced, it is to the sound of air rushing out of a full balloon.

@f3+1jqy179q4 there is no conspiracy. They talk about it in earnings calls and set aside a billion dollars in severance costs. We don't need hard numbers to feel paranoid and demoralized. All you have to do is look around you. Over the past 5 years I've watched more and more get laid off, while the India team continues to grow and grow.

We can squabble about actual numbers all day long, but this isn't rocket science. All you have to do is open your eyes. It doesn't matter if it's 100 a month, or 1000. It's too much. Anyone with half a brain paying attention can figure it out without needing data.

@f1+1jqy179q4 Uh no, that would be published info and is all that's being asked here, not just relying on the word of another apocalyptic weirdo on thelayoff reading tea leaves.

@f0+1jqy179q4 Where did I, or anyone deny that layoffs are happening at all? Literally just point to a single comment on this post that said that. And thank you for...something? What list are you even referring to that you think is some magical list of layoffs? You're conflating the cost center thing and TM.

You can't provide anything being asked because you're not arguing in good faith, and are reading some sort of conspiracy into anyone asking you to back up what you said. It's nuts.

The numbers cumulatively also line up quite nicely with what WF has put out in their annual reports the last few years. But I suppose you think that data is unproven also.

There's only "zero evidence" if you can't read. It's really easy to verify as well. People on the list are suddenly zz and then 60 days later vanish from the employee roles on regular TM lookup, which is not what happens with people that just quit. When people quit, they are pulled from the regular employee list pretty much immediately, and if you track these things you notice that small numbers of + and - just about every day. You clearly don't monitor any of this, so you have no idea what you're talking about. You just show up in every thread and troll, simultaneously denying it's happening and claiming that you never denied it's happening. It's bizarre behavior for someone on a layoff site, which suggests you're here to push an agenda counter to the truth.

The title of the cost center.

OP comes here every once in a while with these specific layoff numbers, and every time it turns out he is just looking at the employee count in some cost center with zero evidence to prove that is what the cost center # is even for. It could be for janitors or balloon animal artists for all we know. He'll pretend he won't understand that and around and around it will go.

@ef+1jqy179q4

Do people that quit get a severance? No, they don't. The count is the number of people that recently went on the roles of the employees currently in their notice period and headed to receiving severance. You don't know what you are talking about. Just stop.

@ec+1jqy179q4 where did I say layoffs aren’t happening Qt@rd?

And also, of that difference in headcount, how many was from attrition and how many were layoffs? Until you can answer that that number does not meat what you think it does. This is really simple and you not being able to understand why that single data point is useless without it just shows why you’re still stuck at WF

"Single fact"? Seriously? Get off your A and look at the annual reports FFS. They tell you right there in black and white. Jan 1 of 2011 we had 259,000 domestic employees? How many do we have now? That aren't contractors. Hmmm? How many? GTFO you HY shill. You were obviously sent here to try to perpetrate lies and cover up the truth. Go give some more fake quotes to the people plugging Well Life. I personally know a ton of people that have been downsized in recent years. The CEO has told the press about billions of additional dollars for severances on top of the norm / predicted amounts. Yet here you are pretending that S isn't happening. You are a joke and if anyone needs to be downsized, it's probably you at the top of the list.

@by+1jqy179q4: They could layoff the DEI groups and save millions of dollars.

Yeah they could but that would impact white woman and people with H1B statuses the most (two biggest beneficiaries of DEI programs). Not gonna happen.

You guys are so awesome. Literally 100k people have been let go over the last 14 years or so, and yet any time someone posts up some data, you wail and pretend that it's impossible. Nothing to see here, move along. It's laughable. Just stop embarrassing yourselves. If you want to pretend it's not happening, stick your head in the sand somewhere else.

@aj+1jqy179q4 lol nice try, just cut to the chase and admit you don't actually understand what little "data" you have like every other time this comes up. I bet you have faith in those hallucinated "reciprocal tariffs" numbers too.

@ae+1jqy179q4 Ohhhh sweetheart, don’t get salty at the OP because you aren’t smart enough to deduce where this data is and how easily it is collated.

This is why you are being let go. All the outrage over I&P taking positions, you just sold yourself out as not being good enough to hold the position you’re in just from not being able to pull this employee accessible information.
