This is not layoff related but apparently they cancelled service heroes trip to Disney and now they are taking them to Hawaii. Don't get me wrong. Service heroes deserve recognition but Hawaii after asking 30k ppl if they would like to resign? Hmm.. Make sense to anyone?

It amazes me the venom that is spewed from actual employees of the company. If you are so displeased - just leave. Stop bringing everyone down around you.
Oh look another free vacation for the exects while thousands upon thousands are worried about their livelihood. While some Super Heroes I’m sure are deserving it’s more like a popularity contest where the same people get picked to go multiple times. Hope they enjoy it because it will be a final hurrah for quite a few before they are shown the door!
Sounds like maybe there was a threat to change so close to the trip. Unless they moved the dates out as well?
In 2020 it was cancelled, missed out on Disney. They did give each winner $5,000 due to canceling. It is all a write off for the organization, but I almost feel like winners would prefer money and a week of PTO.
HI is closer to India & PH than FL. Would that be the reason?

Congrats though to the service heroes this year. It always struck me as odd that Disney was the destination. As an adult Disney is of zero interest to me so Hawaii is a much nicer reward and experience.
Merit have always been low nothing unique this year. Service heros are in the club so why would they take a hit.
I think most would understand if they discontinued service heroes completely to save jobs or increase merit! It’s common sense, those trips are elaborate!
Just heard the announcement on Hawaii too. I totally get your point. The optics are terrible, but this is a one time expense for the company. They need to reduce to get folks off their books permanently. I think they should have funded merit at a higher rate to avoid an internal revolut since they're already up against a public one.

He might have to sell his Bentley to buy a Mercedes. The culture has changed so much it is all Greed!!!!
