Thread regarding Ford layoffs

An Open Letter to Jimmy Boy

Now you done run this ole company into the ground Jimmy, admit it. Ya got everyone in combustion fearing for their livelihood hood because they might get laid off a couple years before getting the full pension. How fair is that? You sit on the Royal Blue Throne like you own the place, but you sit and do nothing but race cars and chase women. We need a REAL CEO, one who will drive us towards a better future and give employees a fair shake. Ya got temperament issue, we've all heard. Get a bit angry when ya don't get it your way do ya? Well ya gonna get real angry when you realize all your plans are destroying the company and you're too incompetent to change the trajectory. Please step down, we don't want you, we don't need you. Bring back Joe Hinrichs, the man knew automotive. You know nothing. Please resign and retain what little dignity you have little Jimmy.

Bring back Joe Hinrichs? Get outta here with that! He bungled the Explorer/Aviator launch as well as the F-150 launch!

Thanks @qnj for pointing out the FRP. Some of the newer folks seem to think we get the same 401k benefits they do.

I agree. The pension transformed into an additional 401k match to alleviate the long term liability from the books and hoist it onto the employee. The immediate costs are still there. It isn't a them vs us. Both groups get additional funds for retirement every pay period. There are those on this board who seem to enjoy being divisive. They are taking the opportunity to air their personal grievances at a time when we should be supporting each other.

They are right when they call you mo--ns. Too d-mb to see the big picture.

It is the "young folks" that have to chip in part of their pay to finance these pensions and there is no running away from that. Most other companies have the same problem unless they are young businesses.

But you are right, maybe we should leave this company that threatens layoffs every five seconds so we don't have to pay for your fu-----d pension you as----e.

Yes, it is fair to get both a pension and a 401k. That was the benefit when we hired in. That was the benefit other companies offered, and weighed into our decision on whether Ford's offer was competitive. It weighed into our decision to stay at Ford over the years, rather than accept other offers. So, person without a pension - you obviously are dissatisfied with your compensation. Why are you working at Ford?

I dint think Ford still had middle-schoolers working the late shifts.
I thought only coal and amazon did that.

@eul+1i5R5mAG Agreed

And look at all the people with pensions giving the posting prior to yours down arrows! Lots of people with pensions do think it is fair they get both a pension and a 401k.
