Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

He left because none of this was his idea

The outsourcing was Eddie and the Board. They think IT is too expensive, and Eddie thinks he knows what he is doing because MBA mmmKay? You could tell Eddie was sent in over Gerry's head to 'transform' IT with 'innovation', i.e. outsource to the lowest bidder and create an EMR (I know right?) And so they made Gerry fire everyone and maybe they fired him but I like to think he said I TOLD YOU SO MO--NS and left on his own. Unless he s a great actor he did look like he was going to pu-e the first time. Besides he was in healthcare long enough to KNOW how this would turn out. Not vitriol...truth!

You know, 5 years from now when you are working for a different company, all of these details will mean nothing to your future. Zero. All in the past. Learned from.

Lot of neurons going on this could be spent on something better.

It was the board (inclusive of Eduardo,) Gerry was around two years prior to the decision in 2018. I think it was more of a "Ascension Technologies is a software company now" and "it costs too much to run the studios AND support healthcare" kind of decision. I did hear a rumor he and some other executive confronted Eduardo and expressed concerns that the transformation wasn't going well, which didn't go well and the transformation continued. Either way he could have left prior to facilitating the insanity.
