The highest daily recorded cases ever in the U.S. we're on Jan 10th--which was the last scheduled RTO date. Any armchair epidemiologist could have predicted that 30 days out when Powell doubled down in Dec (gawd what a clown!).
However, absent a new variant Covid cases will be WAY down in Mar and if you are vaxxed and boosted the risk of serious illness from Omicron is now actually less than the flu. The Atlantic had an article out recently titled "Open Everything" and the Times has argued for a recalibration in personal risk assessment. Covid will very soon no longer represent a reason to not RTO.
There are plenty of valid arguments not to RTO but I don't think using Covid as a crutch for preferring WFH is going to hold up much longer. And this is from someone still rocking a N95 in public places due to vulnerable family members...which I expect to be unnecessary in a couple weeks. Jump off the Stagecoach folks, that is the answer!

All I can say is if someone sees me pickup a test or questions why I am wearing a mask, they will be reported to security for harassment.

97 times a small number is still a small numbers. Also, most of the demographic that dies is out of the workforce. Oh, and the safe and effective vaccine/boosters are available to anyone who is concerned.

Statements like this make me want to punch someone in the face. Yes, according to some studies viral loads between the vaccinated and unvaccinated may be similar. But the likelihood of a vaccinated person even contracting covid is lower.

They are seriously underestimating what going back means. Has anyone been out in public lately? People have lost all sense of decorum and courtesy - for going out doing things they want to! Just look at unruly air passenger rates.
How is that going to track with people not wanting to go back? Not having been around anyone for any length of time? Its going to be like a bo--y hatch in the office.
What exactly is the purpose of having the unvaxed wear a mask all day but not the vaxed? I just had two co-workers get Covid - on 3x vaxed and one unvaxed - seems like if everyone is at risk then everyone should wesr a mask?
For this pandemic to wind down, we need for the virus to spread to enough people. Especially since omicron, it’s common for vaccinated people to catch/spread the virus, but unvaccinated folks are 97 times more likely die from an infection. To those of you who are still unvaccinated, you may have succeeded in hiding from the virus so far, but with all of us crammed together, the grim reaper’s going to be catching up on a lot of unfinished business.

This truly is an antiquated “Boomer” bank with antiquated policies, systems, mentality, you name it. They need to get with the times on so many levels or there will not be a Wells Fargo in the future. The Stage Coach is being left in the dust by not only competitors but top talent leaving due to location strategy and forced RTO with shared desks. Remote work offered would have been a small concession to make on Wells Fargo’s part and would have Greatly helped show their appreciation, respect, and that they CARE about their employees mental health, work life balance and safety!

If I’m going to be corralled into an office building during a deadly pandemic, you can “see” me from a distance all you want but I don’t recommend approaching me.

The daily death rate is currently just over 2,500, and will still be in the four digits come mid-February. The ill-advised, dangerous and completely UNNECESSARY push to compel workers back into office spaces is like a bad horror movie where the supposedly-dead villain reawakens over and over and over.

COO call scheduled for Monday. Anyone have any insight? Rumor has it they will announce RTO in March. Fingers crossed it’s not true.
And you guys always say this site is fake news or just gossip. Seems like 1 or 2 days late and right on the money.
