Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is bloated

This is not to say that constant layoffs are the solution. But better, leaner, more competent mgmt is. If the company was better managed and organized, we would not have to continuously suffer from all side effects of cutting jobs: anxiety, tension, threatened livelihoods, poor morale, low effectiveness and productivity, general dissatisfaction. So how about completely changing mgmt from bottom to top, and changing the organization, culture, style? Too difficult? Too much work? Who would want to bother with that? That’s what I thought.

Yes, and if all levels of management is cleaned up and new competent management took over, there would be no need for any future layoffs. Then the company can be run based on performance and not politics. Amen.

@fpd+1tXL3Niu Who are these mythical resellers that do anything?

@nki+1tXL3Niu UKI is not relevant. Stop posting about your region and drink your bad tea.

Paying 20 Cisco people commission on an order is bad management and unsustainable when the resellers do all the work

Yes but LRs are never strategic. It's pure short-term cost cutting. Nobody has the intelligence to cut BUs that are lagging behind without hope of ever coming back. Cisco should shed UCS rackmounts, AppD, CX Cloud, CX PM and many others. But Robbins is too clueless to comprehend the situation.

this company will never actually fire the levels that actually cause the problems, just the IC’s forced to clean up their messes for a living

We have to change because "Change is the ONLY constant!" Don't believe me? Just ask the UKI management.
