Belk is opening ANOTHER outlet in an old big lots store in Jackson Mississippi.

@vs—-honey, I’m 66 years old and my time at belk ended last year, and I speak from great experience in both retail management in store and at the corporate level, and small business planning and execution for myself and my daughter who also has a successful small business, hear me when I say this —this is all smoke and mirrors!!! .The company is currently about $1.3-$1.5 billion in debt which is completely unsustainable, but we never know because everything is keep hush, hush. We know in February of 2021 they were $2 billion in debt, when they filed bankruptcy, and market conditions have gotten significantly worse in retail, not better. Opening a few outlets and full line store near Tampa is definitely not an indication of success, in fact, if you notice, most full line stores have had their payroll cut even more. For goodness sake it’s -almost December 2025 and Belk is still operating on their 2020 COVID business model with fitting rooms closed and the removal of wrap stands, they are desperate to try to gaslight people in to thinking everything is normal, and the sad part about it, some people in positions of power at Belk actually believe it. I don’t care what stores or outlets they open in rural areas, what name brand lines of clothing they carry, or anything else, the company is in trouble, and it’s only going to get worse. @fr there is now a corporate team that’s working on buying and planning for the stores instead of just the clearance rejects. Must be doing alright

The outlet closest to my store does well. Sales and traffic are better than what it was when it was a regular Belk store. Not sure if that is true for the rest of the outlets.
@OP Does anyone know if the outlets are selling the stuff we are sending?
I heard sales aren’t very good , but that’s a rumor.
