Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I am no longer anxious about cuts

I used to worry a lot about being cut. Worrying ahead of time is just self induced suffering, it's pretty pointless. I also think that worrying, in general, is pointless.

Management needs to ask themselves why there are more and more people who would like to take severance pay and get out of this stressful place forever.

I echo what @fyg said. I was in the fortunate position of taking a year off before really looking. It was seriously needed after this place. There are better companies than this. So true!

Heard that from quite a few friends. Hope to experience it!

Getting let go was probably the best thing that happened for me. I quickly found a new job for a lot for money. The culture and stress is so much better. My manager actually knows me and appreciates my work. I recently completed my first performance review and I already received a raise (larger than any I received at BNY Mellon). Losing a job is scary, but you can absolutely leave this sh---y company and come out on top.
