Execs unwilling to do the right hide behind benchmarking

I find it disgusting that our Execs refuse to show solidarity with the workforce and stop taking RSU bonuses. They hide behind the benchmarking and process. Don’t they realize they have a choice and that just because others do something doesn’t mean they have to? Maybe if they stopped others in their benchmark group would follow. For a benchmark to change from doing the same thing someone had to step out.

EM has reduced my salary by 28.% already and eliminated education benefit so yeah I am ready.

  • 20% cost of living eliminated (relocated by company from Houston to High cost US location)
  • 7% match on 20% cost of living adjustment eliminated
  • 7% savings plan match eliminated

If you benchmark the O&G industry for today's business climate, it would say there is an oversupply of skilled employees due to both industry pullbacks and layoffs, with more downsizings to come. When supply exceeds demand, the cost or value of that supply decreases, so logically, EM should immediately decrease salaries across the board, starting with yours.

Are you still a big fan of benchmarking? Ready to step out yourself?

Please come back down to earth. You have to be kidding. People getting RSUs are higher valued employees and must be retained. The Company says so

Of course they realize it’s a choice and they choose to enrich themselves. Stop trying to appeal to their better angels. Most management in this company don’t have better angels. XOM is pure capitalism at work.
