Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Meta has ended its DEI programs, should Synopsys follow suit?

I’m unclear whether we have staff dedicated to DEI. Is the program delivering meaningful value for the company and its people, or is it mostly symbolic?

@j3 As another said DEI would be used as an excuse of layoff. First reorg after merge, next AI, and then diversity.

@gq Synopsys talks big on DEI, but honestly It's PR. Real diversity works for better ideas, more revenue. Yet look at many teams around, mostly one race. African-Americans are practically an endangered species here.

Meta ended their DEI program because Trump was elected president. When a Democrat replaces him in 28, they will all of a sudden restart their DEI program (probably under a different name). This is yet another example of why the real enemy is the billionaires and not DEI or lack thereof. As another said, not sure what op's post or my response has to do with the forum topic of layoffs. But thanks for coming to my ted talk!

@ap DEI will probably be on the layoff checklist soon.

fully agree. s-xual orientation has nothing to do with work and should not play any role there. likewise religious belief or race. the whole diversity cult is a sham, an artificially inflated problem that holds everyone hostage just to employ a few otherwise incapable folks in "diversity"-related positions.
That said, true cases of discrimination and abuse have to be proscuted by law, and were already in the past without DEI nonsense.

How does it have anything to do with the subject of layoffs?
