Thread regarding United Healthcare layoffs

Average Salary at 66K in US? Seriously?

No wonder I can no longer afford where I live... I'm not even anywhere near getting paid the average salary and I've been with this company for quite a long time (well over 20 years). It's a disgrace. Giving this company all these years with NOTHING to show for it except stress and fear that my job will be reassigned CONSTANTLY. I'm not even truly salaried, I'm hourly. Loyalty and hard work get you nothing at this company.

@gy Careful...$76k is not that much for a 32 year old. Your arrogance will come back to bite you some day. You have no idea what other people's life situations may be like. Learn some humility.

If you’ve been working for 20 years, anywhere, and you aren’t making 65k, you sc--wed you life up. How can that even be? I’m 32 and making 76 lol

The best way to give yourself a substantial raise is to get a new job at a different company. Don't settle for the same or about the same income, go for more.

"Seek and ye shall find."

Stagnating in the same company for decades on end, hoping and waiting on someone else to grant you a pittance of a raise isn't going to cut it.
You have to MOVE to keep moving UP!

Loyalty gets you nothing anywhere unless you are in a union. Hard work will as long as you work smart. And a good attitude goes a long way.
