Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Layoffs will not stop

We might get a week or two reprieve, maybe even a month, if we're lucky, but we will never again be safe. The floodgate has been opened and there is no closing it. This management only knows how to improve the numbers by cutting costs - which equates to layoffs. If you are staying at Nike, accept layoffs as a fact of life.

@hbg Nordstrom and Gap have been doing the the same thing for ages. Look how well that’s working out.

Do the math….
2017 - restructuring
2020 - restructuring
2023 - restructuring
2026 - mark your calendar for restructuring because 3 years will have passed

So d-mb. How many companies feel the need to ‘restructure’ every 3 years. Just Do It right with a long term game plan if you actually are restricting for the benefit of the business rather than using restructuring as a lame excuse to cut payroll to satisfy Wall Street. This is JD’s master plan in play of continual layoffs. Maybe he should be laid off….according to his plan for everyone else he’s already expired in this company.

One Kobe release and take the 250mm rev and pay the salaries of the people. Instead of build billions in office space that nobody wants to work in.

How about reducing duplicate solutions used in Tech, how about not acquiring companies that you end up not using.

Could save 10s of millions

@ngy+1pYUCvXp As said before how about not spending millions a year on a consultant to do our decks in AIC and have employees do some of the work themselves? Could’ve saved all jobs with that spend.
