Layoffs in stateside Optum Tech today 4/6 - likely a trimming of MAP rating 2's

Four that I know of but a larger "unknown" number working it's way thru the system.

EPPS worker still stuck here: Was hoping to be laid off today but was not. I agree the last year has seen the demise of the EPPS department at Optum to the point anything would be better than working here.

Well, me too. Position eliminated after 16 years of all 4+ MAP ratings. This is affecting Optum EEPS heavily. Which has been on a major downhill and toxic path since Matt Shilts took over. I for one am glad to now be out of this cesspool of hate and poor decision making.

Anyone remember the days when it used to be fun working at UHT, then UGH IT, then Optum Tech.

Those were the days where the company actually cared about their employees, our vendors, our patients, etc.

Then someone decided "Hey, let us start to layoff the really smart people, the ones who help built this company into what it is today." As I see more really smart people being let go, dedicated to the company for many years, it saddens me. After today, I am glad my ticket was punched many months ago.

I do wish to extend my sincerest apologies to those who have been laid off the past 3+ years. I hope you are happier as a result of it. I know I am.

I was laid off in 2020 right before covid after 20 years. I made finding a new job my job and worked 40 hours a week applying and interviewing. Within 2 months I found a better paying job for a company that respects me. Unlimited pto, bonuses, work life balance. I know this is upsetting but it works out for those that are talented

Apparently my nearly 10 years at this company - all of which were marked by excellent ratings - mean nothing. Meanwhile, that asian bloke who sh-t his pants during morning stand up gets to stick around just because he worked at Lockheed Martin or something. Ridiculous.
