Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I got an idea

Everybody listen your superiors and enable their behaviors to the extreme. Gas them up and start agreeing without any friction. Let’s do it for 3 weeks straight. I have an idea. Over exaggerate their genius work. Trust me. This will be hilarious

Good reference, but one quick fix, GM’s yes men/women are out of Warren now, finance moved out of the RenCen after COVID, only Canadians who cross the border work there on in person days. Aside from finance, yes men engineers are also mostly Warren.

I show up late
Take a long lunch
Leave early
Blame other people
And avoid all management
The new way

@he+1jv94qr0t is this illegal? The point isn’t to cause sabotage or harm? I’m trying to understand because let’s say you don’t want to play a game you just want them to see reason. What if you don’t want destruction?

It’s called malicious obedience: Doing exactly what you’re asked to do even though you know it will end in disaster. If you want to retaliate against your managers, this is how you do it. Then when everything falls apart, you have the documents proving what you were asked to do.

That’s its name.

Managers hate this.

@ha+1jv94qr0t what is it called when you do the right things and speak out and work through all the processes and it escalates from HR to speak up and they fake an investigation while you’re left with sabotage in retaliation as well as career defamation? What is this called? Being a target I mean. Asking for people that challenge the status quo. So we know what is at stake for their livelihood. They probably want to describe it easier under one umbrella which is what you seem to do.

To OP, I have seen this happen already, many times over in Ford and even in the past 5 years. And no surprise it has resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in costs for recalls.

What weak, insecure leader is going to surrounded herself with strong people?

The weakness and insecurity starts at the top and flows down, like proverbial do---o.

They have lost sight of the fact that strong successful leaders surround themselves with talented people from whom they take advice. If the leader prefers to always be “right” they surround themselves with yes men and women.

If the culture punishes you for speaking up and rewards you for compliance and you desire to keep food on the table for your family, which do you choose as the ethical choice as the people that target you don’t aim for amicable departure through indifference, they try to use vulnerabilities and squeeze you like a lemon then drink lemonade in front of you while they tell everyone it wasn’t from them. Not to mention the career defamation. There are so many situations where they try to ki-l your livelihood and force you “try us in court” tactics for bad behavior. Who is at fault? Since ford is all about systems thinking, I hope you look at each leg of the 3x5 why. This is easier than the trolley problem, I look forward to your next response.

Dearborn is: Yes-men central! Except for Auburn Hills and the RenCen of course. :) There are probably yes-men at honda and toyota but Those bosses seem to know what they are doing.

@a6+1jv94qr0t I know you say this but think about if we all turned it up a notch in unison. What if from every level everyone just agreed. Think about it. If we made it seem like they always make sense without even questioning or having them explain. Let’s all try it. I really want to so bad. It’ll be so funny

Unless this is sarcasm, this is already happening. That's how certain leaders have their favorites.
