Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is it realistic to expect layoffs as soon as Monday?

With FNV4 being pronounced dead and all. I’m relatively new here, so I don’t have a sense of how quickly leadership tends to move on layoffs.

Does this mean the contract software engineers will be terminated? I just joined the company 2 months ago and I’m scared what’s gonna happen next.

Doug Field is the third highest paid and highest ranked leader. act like one and earn your paid.. take you've been here too long to blame someone else. take responsibility for your own failure. you own it.. you are the DRI - directly responsible individual.
if you don't agree with it .. then why didn't you changed it???

I dont know who in the world you are attempting to place blame, but I can tell you for a fact it is not DF.

It's Kool-Aid...lol. No wonder the company struggles. Most of the posters on this site can't form a proper sentence.

The cost was known years ago. Pure incompetence and nothing else. This crew at senior management can not be trusted to deliver anything fnv2 or fnv3.x. Farley needs to acknowledge the mistake and clean shop

everyone saw it 6 months ago except for the people drinking the cool aid. now its time for the people drinking the cool aid laced with arsenic to pay the piper. they want you to log every hours and be all in on FNV4 because they can determine who to lay off really easily. the data is there... anyone with more than 51% on FNV4 is no longer needed and can be let go.

@hk+1jsqd09p5 keep drinking the cool aid... one day at noon the same management that you trusted so much will give you your last coolaid to drink.

it's not about how high to set the bar. it's about having a strategy that is right for the company and knowing your customers to make monies and staying focus on it. not change with anyway the wind blow and appease the spineless politicians.

it's the same id--t who went all in on EV's and all in on FNV4 without a plan B. until they found out that it's cost too much, doesn't work, and breaks everything and worst then what they are trying to fix. yet they still don't listen and don't come up with a plan B, lost 8 Billion in the last 2 years on all 3 EV in FNV4. now the water is up to their necks and they tell the employees to jump?? hey there is always FNV5, FNV6... 7 when until chapter 11.

FNV4 is “cancelled” but there is FNV3.x. So they still need the same team to work on that.

It’s not like they cancelled FNV4 and expect to sit down and do nothing!

Also for the short sighted, read between the words. FNV4 is not being CANCELLED. it is falling short of expectations and so they want to ship with what is possible. Hence FNV3.x.
It doesn’t mean cancelled. It means scaled back. So what? This is why we have plans and why we revise them. And I would rather set my success bar high and fall short then set my success bar low and think I over achieve which is what losers do in life.

Feel bad for those poor GSRs who are gonna pay the price for this blunder. They will be lucky if they get to see another fomoco paycheck in May!
I just wonder, no way leaders didn’t know this 6 months ago when they doubled down on FNV4 over that evo or whatever architecture. Yet they played us like ping pong ba--s from program to program.

IF, they really didn’t knew this was coming, what good is a leader who can't see where will we be in 6 months?
You had people spending man hours in Jira making sure your dashboards look correct, with data reflecting the reality.
How come you didn’t see this coming 6 months ago?

I can't wait to see it happens. Ford has so much unused resources. Thousands of employees with nothing to do for the past 4 months. It's time to cut the cord.

The amount of NRE that just got scrapped is quite mind boggling. This is going to hurt.

I do not expect it, there might be some small reduction in the people only dedicated to the FNV4 program

If they decide to cancel FNV4 today it will take a few months to do a layoff. But they may have the whole thing planned since a few months ago, so who knows.
