One man crews is a good thing. Zero even better. Why does everyone on this site have a problem with it?
@hsz+1529lduX, site had a glitch for few hours, new threads were not appearing on the main page. All forums here were affected, not just ours.
News agencies know about it what are they even trying to hide?
This site is a shame. Real legit articles about news of more layoffs being blocked. People trying to figure out what's going on and this site has no reason to block it other then up communicating with the site trying censor the truth cause it looks bad.
This site is blocking new posts on main page. I'm sure it has to do with what happened at bailey today. Google it.
I agree it’s not funny either. If they’re not moving the headquarters to San Francisco then why are they both out there every weekend using company travel funds.
Better joke is they are moving headquarters to North Platte because it’s the self titled gem of the system going San Francisco isn’t funny in the least bit I agree with @anu+ and it’s all about the money

The company isn’t moving to San Francisco this has been said over and over again they have no property there and they couldn’t sell the glass palace no one wants to be in the middle of Omaha Nebraska. Plus I highly doubt the city of San Francisco is going to do anything to help lure them to move there you’d find a better rumor to start by saying they are moving headquarters to North Platte.
The UP can defintely have 1 man crews on a lot of their routes with the ground based conductors. 90% of conductors sleep or do nothing 90% of the time on 90% of the routes as the recordings show. As a conductor I'm not opposed to a ground based job if the pay and time off is great.
