Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Were any areas untouched? If so, why? My area was hit hard (me included).

@OP

If ur area has USA/EU overlay and LL3 is from the other side of the pond, hard hit on the USA side could be from your LL3. His interest toward his homeland is more important to him than you. We had seen that in the past.

@zbn+1nlPe2jU if they were being vocal about cleaning up the mess (or others were being vocal on their behalf)- those who need to preserve the fiction that they architected and delivered a beautiful work of art would need them gone. That long arm reach to influence cuts unfortunately happens.

@hty+1nlPe2jU while you're statement is true and I agree having worked and seen the actual spaghetti mess that codebase is.

The ones let go were the ones doing the heavy lifting to correct it.
Fordpass build times before were 3-4 hours in CI/CD.

They let go of the guy who was responsible for cutting 3-4 hours down to 30-45 minutes. and that's just one of the people who got let go doing the heavy lifting.

All I can say is that app is about to get even worse than it already is

And yet one of the biggest clowns behind the Ford Pass mess is now a manager in Ford Pro, recreating the same types of messes there. These clowns make a mess, jump to another area and then claim their successor F’ed things up.

The FordPass dev team is a logical target given the poor quality code they produced.

Don't know. There's still a lot of us waiting to get the "all clear" sign.

If they don't belong in the friends and family, then they have to bear the axe.

Fordpass Model e was hit pretty hard.
like 12-15 devs total

One thing in common of all those let go at Fordpass Model e.
they were all contract conversations by a specific manager no longer at Ford, who had quit Ford 2 years prior.

almost EVERY.SINGLE.ONE of them.
can that be a coincidence? It sure was not salary based.
because the ones left were paid more than the ones let go.

Age couldn't have been it either one dude was like 29 or something.
