Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Neil and Jack Show

Just watch the employee forum. They never really answered the question about attrition and more importantly PIPing. They clearly want to pivot to the future and not discuss the present cluster f…. And the real joke is that they actually think they are the solution and not the problem. More BS and more loss of credibility.

Those who take the PIP “are usually successful though so you really shouldn’t be that worried about being fired”.
Right there, boilerplate filthy management lie. Yes, if you pass the PIP you will not be immediately fired, but anybody who’s been put in PIP is dead meat for the future, marked for the next layoff of PIP.

@eqx+1f6icwvI They won’t by Exxon. You could have a larger, but they won’t buy us lol. Also chevron has massive attrition and leadership problems, don’t expect them to be any better.

@OP+1f6icwvI You’re not getting it, they aren’t addressing it because they want it. As for attrition it’s easier to let people quit than to fire people. As for PIP % being high, that helps us have more people quit instead of go through PIP. For those who do go through it they are usually successful though so you really shouldn’t be that worried about being fired. Switching to becoming a low cost provider is necessary for the long haul, and this is the pain of going through that transformation. And yes you’ll lose your top people and keep the bottom largely with this strategy, but as a low cost provider you expect to not hire the best, so that aligns pretty well. We want to be a low cost provider since, long term, this is a dying (or at least significantly shrinking) industry where price will be the only thing that really matters in 30 years.

If you were looking for someone to go against the “company line” you’re definitely looking in the wrong place
