Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Fu-k leadership

Fu-k fidelity leadership.

The way they haven’t communicated anything transparently with us is appalling. I’d be embarrassed to walk into the office as a leader. Honestly, I’m realizing i have to give them the same energy I’m getting. Do the bare minimum

LEADERS??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This place has been on a steady decline since Ned passed. Didn’t even take a year to crumble.

@vfa+1rtfR1J7 - This is on client services side. It's not an email.

No such email came out. We have no notices of any kind. Which fid news line are you talking about?

———-
Fidelity newsline comes out saying that this is speculation and sometimes cuts have to be made for the greater good of the company... and that "These events are difficult, and prioritizing respect and sensitivity for all our colleagues during this time is inherent in our leadership principles." lmao

Agree it wasn’t handled well, but not the direct manager or supervisors fault. I absolutely believe people were targeted if they pushed back on the in-office requirement, even if they had an approved exception. At the beginning, some managers gave employees in-office exceptions even when they weren’t allowed to, because they didn’t know better, and it completely sc--wed the employee.

Most of the leaders are powerless and are just going with the flow. Even if they do care they can't do anything. No use getting mad at them really.

When you get notice you are laid off, you are done. Do not go to meetings or standups with the team and polite-fully decline and clear your calendar. What is 3 weeks going to do anyway? Meet the expectations outlined in your severance documents, answer emails and requests from management and HR, that's it. Refer other requests and questions to your team or manager. You will win no points or favor for being a good sport or holding your head up high like I see in these Linkedin posts. If you want to take any pride in yourself, move on and do not give them any more of your energy.

I wasn't impacted but totally agree this was mishandled. Silently laying off workforce and most the associates don't know that weren't impacted. Management isn't talking and saying they can't share any details on who, what, or why. It's gross! I only had one person I know impacted personally tell me. Going to create a rebellion instead of instilling fear

Completely agreed. They want to save their resources? Well I’m gonna save my time and efforts for them lol
