Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Will XOM become next Kodak?

The company will soon become a because case in business, regardless of whether it survives or not.

If it survives it will become a case study on how bad its culture is, extreme politics, diversity but no inclusion, and the iconic lieing that continues.

If it goes under it will def. be included in case studies on what brought it down which everyone working knows what will bring it down. Not the people but id--ts in the top seats throughout the organizations.

From a hearsay, the id--ts in HR can't even confirm people's employment history and if they do they report wrong dates. Are we still collecting data on paper logs or what? If no, why can't we provide accurate data? May be the lead data scientist lady in EMIT who keeps herself self promoting everywhere with her Harvard certificate can explain using her insights as why the company once cash rich is so data poor also now.

US Steel and IBM are the best analogies. Still around but shrunken shells of their former glory.

No long term prospects. Sell your stock on this uptick.

It seems that the more oil investment is discouraged that the higher the price of oil will go so profit will increase.

This trend already started.

Invest less, make more profit. Eventually will need to invest more, but price of oil will be very high so very profitable.

No it will become like US steel. Gradually declining to irrelevance due to high production costs / externalities of the useful commodity it produces and the fact that the oil &gas technology are now commoditized as well. Anyone can produce and refine oil.
