As usual the contract is already agreed to by both parties prior to expiration of previous contract. The company makes demands and the union “fights” for the workers.

Also do not plan on more than $300 per week for standing around with a cheap red tee shirt and a picket sign yelling ATT su-ks.

I plan on $0/week to just be on vacation and live off my very large emergency fund.

I have no sympathy for members who can't afford it. We're union. Plan for and expect a strike every contract year. Save your money.

Roberts on the negotiating team ? Is he the hack that called for a wildcat strike a few years ago over a customer service rep being monitored by management.

Good. Someone willing to call a strike.

The entire local sacrificed 3 days pay while striking. The issue was settled somehow. But the details were never disclosed. Sounds pretty shady.

The CWA boasts that there are 700,000 members. That’s a lot of members fees collected for no product and very little service. But lots of support for Democrat politicians! For all you members I hope you are a proud union member supporting the current corrupt government.

CWA = GREED. Do the math. Average annual union membership fees X number of members = hundreds of millions of $. And then list all the great benefits that a member gets minus all the give backs over the last 25 years. You will then get the big picture. Also do not plan on more than $300 per week for standing around with a cheap red tee shirt and a picket sign yelling ATT su-ks.

In the end the union pays themselves on the back since they fought for you and kept the pensions and healthcare and got a nice meager raise. These so called negotiators are puppets that the CWA puts in place for show. The deal is done by the company and the union behind closed doors. Probably with some fringe benefits for the union bosses.

Molson Coors workers in Fort Worth went on strike a week or so ago. According to the news the Teamsters Union pays the striking workers $1,000 a week. I am sure the CWA has the ability to pay this amount or more being the size it is.

They aren’t required to offer $h!t.

You are an id10t.

It's in the contract readily available online. Think again if we're going to give up Article 2 language.

That would be great! They’d have to declare a surplus and offer us ESB which is at least another $100k to leave for most of us.

Show me the money!!!!

When do we sign up for Strike duty? Will there be concentrated picket lines or will everyone be stationed at their assigned work location? Been talking to friends, neighbors about the negotiations and how the company is continuing to reduce or eliminate benefits each contact and off-shoring jobs. They are very supportive of the Union and willing to change carriers, I asked them to wait until the process plays out. We are all behind the Union bargaining team, it’s time to go public like the UAW did during their negotiations.

Union Bargaining Team; Members have had enough of your past negotiations, when you squeaked like mice, it’s time to Roar! like a Lion! No give backs or reductions this time don’t want to hear about how a small raise is supposed to cover all the increases in benefit premiums, deductibles and out of pocket. It makes our raises nearly useless against cost of living, inflation and shrinkflatation. Need COLA added back!

I would expect that the company would be very keen on not falling behind on World Cup preparations. West has matches in Santa Clara and Inglewood; Southeast has matches in Atlanta and Miami. Southwest will have matches in Arlington, TX, Houston, and Kansas City, MO.

As the union leadership look on and act surprised.
“Better retirement cash balance matches, fair raises, reasonable healthcare premiums, job security, keeping division of labor.”

This will never happen

Ready to walk, still have my strike sign and tee- shirt from last negotiations. Don’t want to hear about lack of funds when the execs gave themselves extra bonus money and nice fat raises, after making FCF and lower level management are getting nice bonuses and raises in a few days too. I thought we are all team and valuable assets, show us the money!

Better retirement cash balance matches, fair raises, reasonable healthcare premiums, job security, keeping division of labor. It’s hard enough trying to work one job, let alone combining two for the same wage.

And flushing as many product lines that need union workers as possible. Since they can't just dump workers they are dumping the jobs.

Bargaining team is made up of most of the past negotiators who asked the membership to vote on company take-backs. The new member, C. Roberts, was the San Diego president who got rolled by the company and closed a call center with 500 members.

We have small brains on our bargaining end of the table.

CWA in 12 months: "This is the best we can do. We recommend a Yes vote from the membership."

This is the classic rhetoric for start of negotiations, and classic end.

The whole point of raising interest rates was to encourage people to stop spending money and save it instead, which would reduce inflation. Giving out raises that match or beat inflation would also keep inflation high.

Whether you union kool-aid drinkers want to believe it or not……..we will have more give backs this contract and we will have our insurance premiums raised….AGAIN! The CWA hasn’t done jack $h!t for us in the last 25 years. Pull your head out of your a$$. I got out of the union 25 years ago. it’s not as hard as they want you to think it is. Google “CWA Constitution” the CWA tells you how to get out. It’s not hard. I got out because this union is a self serving joke.

See the problem is, with massive management layoffs last year and continuing in 2024 and into 2025, the company has a reduced resource to make up healthcare shortfalls. Low levels managers always knew the better deal craft got, the worse theirs would su-k the next year.

“I agree you should walk. Then they can have Gigapower handle the buildout and maintenance of the infrastructure.”

Stop, you’ve been going on about how Gigapower is going to take over the world for months, not going to happen, but a nice dream. It’s a nascent venture between T and Blackrock for underserved areas, it’s to be seen if it will be successful. The recent track record isn’t very good with T’s leadership over the last decade. I don’t think the very minute, inexperienced workforce will fill tens of thousands positions and be able to work on legacy systems but you keep dreaming.

Hang in there West, the SE core contract is expiring in August we will enjoin you in the fight for a fair contract. We walked last contract negotiations in 2019, was an eye opener for leadership, they couldn’t fly out a new Labor team fast enough to start negotiating in good faith. Contract was settled quickly after that and all the nonsense about reducing or removing benefits stopped. Don’t listen to the company trolls on here trying their usual scare tactics. The worm has turned, the majority of the public is for labor according to many recent polls. People are tired of elites and globalists and are seeing how they are destroying families and communities with their greed.

You think the FCC, US Cyber Team and the FBI are interested in the company now, just wait until the union goes on strike. There will be many more reportable events to the FCC. The fallacy in company leadership’s thinking, is that any trained monkey can replace tens of thousands of experienced workers. Let’s see how that works out for them! We don’t put Nut A on Bolt B all day long, like on an assembly line. A huge majority are Technicians that use critical and physical skills daily to overcome issues, in order to complete daily work list and escalated/outage tickets. Outages and damages happen daily, we are just able to mitigate those issues, quickly, without it becoming a huge news story. It will be interesting to see how the contingency force handles it, can’t wait!

We are ready and have been saving, a month or two maybe, three will do it. It’s a Presidential election year, you don’t think that will draw candidates and the media to the negotiations like flys at a picnic? Union leadership should be making it public, last year they had many examples for successful negotiations. Time to be a Lion not a mouse! Jobs are being off-shored and contracted for critical communications systems, AT&T is the backbone for a lot of the National Network and cables connecting to other continents.

“channel your anger into action”
“ be ready to unleash your justified fury”

Sounds like threats against the company/employees.

Which is a violation of COBC.

I think you guys forgot you are employees and can receive “discipline up to and including dismissal”.

Contractors and managers already have the insurance and pensions you guys are trying to bargain against.

Then if the management employees don’t like the work they can quit and it will all be vendor services.

Making it real easy to get to the headcount the company wants.
