  • and so far no ELT departures, correct?

They are going to clear-out all lower levels of the org, but retain the moldy crust at the upper levels?

Doesn’t feel like the best approach to encourage change...

@jcy

That would be healthy, and probably the smart thing to do. But, in typical Nike "Every day is a new day" fashion, they will only move forward and never learn from past mistakes.

God has nothing to do with any of this.
Poor planning, the promotion of incompetent middle management and the shear arrogance of several key people have made a bad situation much worse.
New Nike leadership should take a serious and sober look at the cult of personalities that has risen to the top.... Perhaps conversations with former employees?
There are plenty of S bands who have very little to do with the success of Nike and a lot to do with the dysfunction and stress every subordinate deals with, daily.
Purge the A holes, without mercy- it's long overdue.
I'd suggest starting in the product innovation org.

Separation will begin Oct 1, at which point you will begin receiving any severance. However, you might be notified of the company's intent to separate prior to that date, in which case you will continue to be paid for doing nothing.

WARN notice is 50 or more employees. How many have been let go in the last week?

There will be no notice. The day you are told is the day (minute almost) you will go. I wouldn’t assume it’s Oct 1 either.

The question I have is this, will Nike simply call and layoff people on, for example, October 1 and would be effective that day or does Nike inform the impacted employees now which gives people that 60 days notice? Any ideas, folks?

The Headline: "Nike Will Lay Off 500 Workers at Its Beaverton World Headquarters."

The message summary: "The sportswear giant, Oregon's flagship company, sent a July 23 notice to state employment officials that it will begin making layoffs Oct. 1. The letter was made public by the state today and first reported by the The Oregonian."
