They should be no different than the rocks and monitors at home for the most part. It should set the newly plugged items as default - that’s how Windows does it.

Headsets are headsets. Wired are best. People complain about wireless audio quality because Windows doesn’t Handle Bluetooth audio very well - it splits it into 2 way audio with lower quality or one way audio [hearing only] with higher quality audio.

Monitors are supposed to go to sleep - that’s part of the power policy. If you have to reboot when they go to sleep you should have someone check your device.

I agree about the network part. It most likely needs some firmware updates.

Laptops ‘configs’ have more to do with software. Most of these devices are universal hardware chosen specifically because it supports a general driver or universal connection.

We now have neighborhood seating on a few floors in my building. Those floors before the pandemic were pretty much full when they were assigned cubes. Now with the hybrid system, covid, and whatever, those floors are now about 20 percent full no matter what day. And most hate it. The new aio monitors/docks are a pain in the ar-e at times, once you plug into them the dock takes over everything and sets it as default. Headsets are wonky, monitors go to sleep, reboot is only way to fix. They drop network connections at times, etc... They did not test these devices out enough as there are waaaaaaay to many types of laptops with too many configs.

This is @hse. I can go with that. I just prefer to knock out my mandatory days first so I can get some real work done at home the rest of the week without the office distractions.

I doubt it. A lot of people are misinterpreting my post. I'm not vaccinated either. I'm just saying that less unvaccinated people would tend to go in on Mondays because it's not a test day (at some locations) and as a result there may be less people overall on site.

how does 3 days in office equate to 5 straight days off when there are 7 days in a week?

Any day in the office is a joke. Barely anyone is showing up beyond the well know primo azzkizzers. 10-20 people per floor. Empty parking lot.

My location is going thru a remodel so i was told to stay wfh until complete......hopefully the whole RTO push will be non issue by summer....I can hope right?

going slightly off topic-- who's mgr is pushing for a specific day for local teams to gather? It's BS since most are spread out by significant miles over the city. Commute is awful!
Our mgr has NOT commuted to join any of his directs in his city....

Am doing Mondays and Fridays - about 15% full where I am... i'll wait to see if someone has a conversation with me about 3x per week. I could always layer in a half day on tue or thur am. Wife asked me if I was going in today - said no I have too much work to do - office days are for light workload days lol...

Ghost town at my location no matter when I go in. 3-5 people on the whole floor.

Force WF to deal with their inane need for control over productivity.

My team calls it “doing the dance”. It’s all for show, and their real work is done at home. This whole house of cards is built on illusions.

If only the chuckster perused this site to understand what dedicated TMs he has in the fold. Imagine his realization that folks are scheming which days to come in merely for the performative charade, and then planning how and when to do the work that needs to get done around all that noise? That's dedication.

Currently doing M & Tu from 8am-noonish. Then I go home. Will see if that keeps me off the “naughty list”. This whole RTO thing is total BS.

Mondays seems to be at least 10 - 15% capacity on floors to which I've been. Thursdays drop to about 5%. I've heard Fridays is a ghost town - so if you want to comply but avoid the chatter, seems like a good day to badge.

My coworkers who go in are doing Mon-Wed but they leave after a few hours when the building starts to get full. Lots of over filling and restrictions on desks or areas brings people looking for desks by noon, so they go home where they can get their work done instead of have their whole day wasted.

If you're vaccinated and work at a big campus, Monday may be a good option for avoiding crowds. Test pick up at many such sites is Tuesday - Friday. So the unvaccinated subset of employees likely won't be on site.

RTO is BS.

There's nothing popular about it.

I’m doing Mondays and Fridays. Trying to determine the next least busy day. Tried Tuesdays, but may try Thursdays.
